Ive always read him as a somewhat educated villain.

He was great in The Batman.

This looks like the standard crime drama show, where is the comic book fantasy elements?

Think it looks pretty good. I've never really been a big fan of Penguin, especially considering him amongst all the other rogues, who are cooler looking or have cooler abilities. I've really only liked DeVito's Penguin before, but that's because they made him interesting (to me, at least) by making him a freaky little guy. That said, I liked Colin Farrell in the role, and the humor he brought.

I would love some of the more fantastical elements to be introduced, but we're still in that odd phase of needing Batman to be realistic and grounded. I don't need him to fly away on an umbrella copter or anything, but a gun disguised as an umbrella doesn't seem too far-fetched, even for a grounded universe. I can totally see a mobster disguising a gun as an umbrella, especially with Oswald's limp.

All that said, I have a lot of love and faith in Matt Reeves and the universe he's created, so I'm sure it'll be well done. I'll take any little tidbits of the Reevesverse now that Part 2 got delayed another year. Plus, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy that this means future Reevesverse films don't have to focus quite so much on Penguin, and can focus on other villains too. Give us the gist in the films, for those who haven't seen the series, but keep the heavy storylines to the show to make way for more interesting villains.

This looks fantastic. Are the Twins gonna be in this show too. Penguin made a big deal about his henchmen in The Batman so it would be a bit weird if they wasn’t in the show too. Because they looked like true followers of his.

That makeup truly is astonishing.

It looks real enough to not be distracting AND you can't see Colin under it at all.

I think it looks pretty great. There can be a Devito Penguin, Burgess Meredith Penguin, and a Colin Farrell Penguin. Room for different interpretations.

Oh not saying there cannot be different interpretations, you know I like the fantasy elements that are in comics.

Yup if it's going to be a grounded Gotham type show, I'm out. That one was only worth watching for all the gorgeous women on it.

I liked Gotham for what it was but if they're going to do Oswald, I'd like a more supernatural show.
