![]() Aaron Sorkin Writing a Potential 'Social Network' Sequel: "I Blame Facebook for Jan. 6" The Oscar-winning screenwriter broke the news when he was asked during a live-from-D.C. edition of The Town podcast about how Facebook and social media have influenced democracy in the years since his 2010 hit.The 'West Wing' creator says he's working on a spiritual sequel to the 2010 hit that examines how Facebook's algorithm has impacted democracy. ![]() “Look, yeah, I’ll be writing about this,” Sorkin told Matthew Belloni and Peter Hamby. “I blame Facebook for January 6.” When asked why he blames a social media company for a pro-Donald Trump mob storming the U.S. Capitol, Sorkin replied, “You’re going to need to buy a movie ticket.” Source: The Hollywood Reporter Last edited by Canada; 04-27-2024 at 01:41 AM. |

So the guy is an activist with a camera. I’m sure this will be presented in a fair and fact based way. Yepper. No question.

Well, I think it's one of Fincher's best films. It proved to be prophetic about the young 'tech disrupters' and hammered a stake right through all their bulls**t. In the end, they were no different than the establishment they presumed to be disrupting.
It's all about power and money in the end. Always have been. |

It is pretty interesting to watch it happen over and over. Like specfic topics are off limits. Guess they could just make another movie about World War 2 or Vietnam instead. So much has changed since the original movie came out.

Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, and Jeremy Strong Circling ‘The Social Network’ Sequel for Aaron Sorkin, Sony
![]() If offers and, indeed, dealmaking closes, Madison would play Frances Haugen, the data engineer-turned-whistleblower who went to the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Wall Street Journal with her information. White would play the former WSJ tech reporter who leads the breaking of the Facebook files. Strong's potential part is unknown, but one possibility is he would play Mark Zuckerberg, stepping in for Jesse Eisenberg from the original. ![]() https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/mo...rk-1236333122/ https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/mo...&utm_id=624032 |
