Default Restocking fee at Best Buy?

I came across a better deal and I want to return the tv I bought 2 weeks ago. I feel guilty but this deal is just too good to pass up.

Is there a restocking fee for returning the tv?

What should I say; that I found another deal?

Thanks

I don't think there is A restocking fee ! I returned A center speaker once & there wasn't A fee .
Just tell them it was not what you wanted . Or something else like that !

Doesn't Best Buy have a price matching policy if something is purchased within a certain amount of time? I am not sure, but it may be worth looking into. I believe that they would rater not lose the entire sale.

Vary good point Rich . If that works it would eliminate the hassle of return & reordering & being without A tv for A short time !!

Its a completely different TV.

Basically I paid 1274 for my Sammy 650 and on Sunday Sears will have the LED tvs on sale for the same amount. A much much better tv for the same price.

I dont know how the price matching will work because this sale is only for 3 hours on two days.

How would you guys do this?

If its A different tv than the price match won't work ! Take the Tv back on sat. & go get the new one sunday !! Than you are only without tv for 1 night !!

You have a 30-day return policy at BB. I have returned TV's there before, no issues, no restocking fee's. If it is under 30-days, you might want to keep the TV til you get the new one from sears, THEN return the one to BB,

Explain the situation to Best Buy maybe they might match the price of the LED that Sears will have on sale.

Not very nice but I guess Best Buy has the type of system that will let them absorb the loss from having to try to market the set as "open box".

New TVs and better prices won't stop after this week though... I would recommend reading about various HDTV's online and maybe trying to see the one you want in a demo then trying to buy something you actually want.

Good Luck,

Brian

There should not be any restocking fee for your return...

25% for Special Order Products, including appliances
15% for opened notebook computers, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, radar detectors, GPS navigation and in-car video systems
10% for Apple® iPhones

The Best Buy in my neighborhood will charge a re-stocking fee on returned and not exchanged for items over $1000. I'd call them in advance just to be sure.

I think they should charge a re-stocking fee.

(Still,... I wish you luck if you want to try to go through with this idea)

A used TV is worth considerably less than a new one.

A TV costs enough that you really ought to think before buying one.

I tempted to think that if you think about it before buying you will wind up happier with it anyhow so it's a win-win type thingie.

Well when I bought the TV I was happy with it and I'm still happy with it.

But now a really good deal on a better tv came about so I'd be a fool not to get this one.

I agree with bhampton. If you are "still happy with it" than you wouldn't be so quick to return it.

Anyway.... How did it go?

I'm not against trying to get a good deal or the best deal. A sense of value is important for any AV stuff I get.

I actually don't know about either set. Since 1999, I've been using projectors so that's all I read about now.

Edit- I read up on the Samsung 650 and it looks like a great HDTV.

Hey,

I was curious what finally happened but then I noticed AngelinHeaven mentioned he bought the Sears HDTV he wanted in a thread in the Hot Deals section.

Anyway,... I'm just curious how it all worked out... Maybe we will see an update he or in the other thread.
