Don't tease me....

Now, this is very funny. I noted in a thread how my local drive in does 3 nights of horror movies. And most of the titles are DCPs of recently announced or titles that end up announced a few months later from Severin/VS/Scream titles. And it looks like this might give some validity to my thought that they are titles that are newly 4K restored.

Pieces was announced as one of the titles they're playing a few weeks ago.

I wonder if Severin will release this in the UK, like Butcher Baker, Nightmare?

Friday:
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter
The Beyond
Raw Force
Zombie Holocaust

Saturday:
Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives
Evil Dead II
Pieces
The Witch Who Came from the Sea

Sunday:
Freddy vs. Jason
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker

Most of these have already released. I suspect the F13th titles are coming from Shout, at some point, it's just easy money. Most of the others JUST had releases and The Beyond is coming from GH. Last year I think 3 or 4 of the titles last year had 4K announcements right around the time the drive in announced them.

I hope they do cause that £20 price tag for Nightmare Maker was much appreciated.

A UHD of Raw Force would change my life.

If that, F13th or any of the titles get announced in the coming months, it might just be a precursor to titles coming.

I guess it's safe to say PIECES will be one of Severin's Summer sale titles. Thank goodness for separate 4K rights. Grindhouse has yet to wet their 4K feet and the way they operate it would've taken years for an upgrade from them. Look how long we're waiting for The Beyond

Producer Stephen Minasian (Pieces, Slaughter High) died in 2021 and the rights were probably returned to his relatives due to a contract.

Yesss, one of my favourite slashers!

Saw this as part of a Halloween All-Nighters 2 years ago on a gorgeous 35mm print, still to this day my favourite cinema experience! The audience loved it.

Quite surprised Grindhouse didn't keep a tight grip on the rights to this like they have with their other stuff. I wonder if Arrow will do their own 4K.

Agreed. I'm surprised (and happy) to see that Severin is releasing this. I just assumed the rights were with Grindhouse. Is The Beyond 4K from Grindhouse ever actually going to come out? What about Cannibal Holocaust 4K? I knew I should have purchased the 88 Films release of that one. At the rate Grindhouse is going, I guess we may get The Beyond 4K in January 2025 and then maybe Cannibal Holocaust 4K in January 2026 (assuming they don't squeeze in any other obscure limited-edition Blu-rays in that timeframe (which I love by the way - don't get me wrong) which would delay things even further). I know the owner of Grindhouse has a day job and that Grindhouse is just his passion project, but it'd still be nice if they'd move quicker when they're holding the rights to some awesome titles. I feel like The Beyond 4K is getting delayed even further as we speak, since it appears that their newest priority is the Hollywood 90028 (which I'm stoked for - again, don't get me wrong).

Don't count on Arrow releasing their own.

Ever since The Hut Group took over or whoever, their title selection has been going downhill IMO.

They did have a strong half last yr with BRUCE LEE ... WITNESS ....BLOOD BLACK LACE and the PSYCHO COLLECTION.

So far this year I've only grabbed ..BODY SNATCHERS ('78) and .. THE SHOOTIST.

I may grab their MADMAN.. depending on the encode.

Yes! And my favorite film of all time, Dark Places, is also coming to 4K! Apparently.

(Seriously, I would not take that full-page advertisement as an indicator of anything.)

It was posted by a woman who works at Severin in acquisitions and production. This also wouldn't be the first time Severin quietly announced titles via magazine ads.

Nice. Will likely upgrade if true. I just remembered about the BD's included "puzzle debacle" lol. (I never got one with mine.)

My Grindhouse and Arrow releases both came with puzzles.
