Something Tarantino said intrigued me. He disowns anyone who unplugs their VHS players and stops watching videos for good. Which of the points in the poll applies to you?

Sorry to be off topic but it's nice to see a Joy Division fan on here. They rule...RIP Ian Curtis.

As far as videos go, I sold all my movies a long time ago, but I still have 2 VCRs in storage as I still have some home videos.

I have a VHS player and a box of VHS tapes in a spare closet. There are some old VHS cassettes at my mom's that have family video on them that I would like to get transferred to DVD before the tapes deteriorate too badly. Stuff with my deceased grandparents mostly.

I never was big on collecting VHS, even when it was the only format in town. However, I did buy several classic cartoons on VHS (mostly Looney Tunes) back in the 80's and early 90's. I sold a few of them, but kept several others, since some of the cartoons are not available on DVD, such as Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips, for instance.

I still have titles that are not on DVD nor Blu-Ray. So, I still have my VCR. I remember that it was VHS and VHS only until 1997. Can't believe it's been like 12 years.

I hated my VHS, I just used it for time shifting... I was strictly Betamax till my poor old Sony finally gave up the ghost.

I never had many to begin with but yeah I sold the ones I got on DVD. I have bootlegs of concerts and other oddities but I never replaced my VCR when it broke years ago.

my wife still has some old vhs tapes, though we do not have vcr to play them on. The one movie I still have on vhs that has yet to be released on any disc format is "Perfect Weapon" I still can't believe it has never seen a release, I thought it was a great action/martial arts movie.

There's another one lurking around here somewhere.

My VCR was sold at a garage sale many years ago, the tapes given away for a second life (I doubt they lasted long).

Got around 500 videos with another 200 recorded shows. Got rid of the ones when the DVD's came out. But some of the films are not on DVD or Blu so I will keep them till a better format releases them. Some of them are obscure classics that may never get a release.

Videos may not look good but they look better than youtube and how many people watch that.

I'm of such a young age that by the time I was buying my own films dvd's where what I was buying (though there where a handful that my parent bought me when I was younger, like the Indiana Jones trillogy, Star Wars Trillogy, but I think besides these film I only had one or two others. Al of which have been released in a better format now (dvd, and hopefully soon to be on blu). Whilst I agree that there are many good films only available on vhs, I haven't seen many of them, and there are so many 'older' films I'm still wanting to see that do have dvd/blu releases I don't see why I would go to vhs.

Uh... THE Tarantino that owns a projector?

Why would I still watch things on a VHS player if I own all of my old VHS stuff on DVD and have re-bought some of them on Blu-Ray?

What an ass... {Tarantino, not you}

I have a DVD / VHS player combo upstairs but I don't ever use it beyond taping the odd t.v show. I sold the majority of my VHS collection and the only ones I kept were the Disney stuff I owned.

Plus, the quality isn't great and by now, I have re-bought all the titles on either DVD or Blu.

Does Tarantino say why he would disown someone? Or does everyone blindly agree because it's Tarantino? Are we supposed to watch these tapes even though they are junk? I've never found anything intriguing with what he has to say.

I have disowned Tarantino after Pulp Fiction. On the other hand, I never really liked videoes and I had the samething with music cassettes. The few 30 movies i had have been worn out and replaced (most of them) on blu. I mainly used a VCR to record a TV show or game I was going to miss.

Same. They were before my time really, me being only 21 and all. Only had a handful of them anyway. Ended up getting Spider-man on DVD then BD, other than that though... don't know if it's worth it for me to buy Pokemon The First Movie on DVD...

I'll probably grab it once it hits BD.

I'm just lucky I come from a home with a parent who buys tons of movies, so I didn't have a reason to build a collection of my own. Then Blu-ray/HD DVD came out and after a winner became apparent, I made the switch. But my mom decided not to; something about not being able to tell the difference. Ugh.

Youtube can do relatively good looking HD, man. I'd say it's about as good as broadcast HD, maybe better even.
