If that's true, and Lara is no longer going to raid tombs, but seek justice and truth, isn't that what she's been doing for the past number of recent Crystal Dynamics "Tomb" Raider games anyway with hardly any tombs and mostly outdoor scripted event maps?

Whoever is in charge at Crystal D clearly doesn't give a darn about tomb exploration like in Raiders of the Lost Ark or Temple of Doom. Not good. The past few Crystal D games prove that with the lack of major tombs for most of the game.

I hate this studio so much.

It’s nice when companies make it easy not to buy their product.

I'm an idiot. If I had read the full article, I would have known that this embarrassing statement throwing the real Lara Croft under the bus was not by Crystal Dynamics but by the designers of the Tomb Raider tabletop game Shadows of Truth.

Evil Hat Productions: The real tombs are the truths you seek along the way.

I don't fully take it back, though. This makes sense:

"Everything flows through Crystal Dynamics, they have to approve everything in the end."

Seems logical that the tabletop RPG makers would write the shitty protagonist the studio wants.

There was also a warning added to the Remastered Trilogy.

Here is the message, viewed and verified by IGN, in full:

“The games in this collection contain offensive depictions of people and cultures rooted in racial and ethnic prejudices. These stereotypes are deeply harmful, inexcusable, and do not align with our values at Crystal Dynamics.
"Rather than removing this content, we have chosen to present it here in its original form, unaltered, in the hopes that we may acknowledge its harmful impact and learn from it.”

Tomb Raider coming to Evercade as a cartridge and the pack-in for the new Evercade hardware. There was also a tweet from Evercade saying these are the PS1 versions.

Quote:
We’re delighted to share the news of our new partnership with Crystal Dynamics to bring Tomb Raider to Evercade! Our emulation capabilities include 32-bit home console gaming, which means we can bring the home console versions of Lara Croft’s first three published adventures to Evercade fans! All on one physical cartridge!

Tomb Raider 3 Remaster Seems to Quietly Edit Out Lara Croft Pinup Posters in Recent Patch

https://twitter.com/SmashJT/status/1781394105618362598

Can you imagine how insufferable one must be around other people that something like this bothers them so much that they had to do this, knowing the reaction it would get?

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Will Restore Missing Posters In Patch 3
The posters were "inadvertently removed" according to Aspyr

Of course they were. It's just a bug.
Companies should get sued for shit like this. People bought the game. It should not be legal to remove content that you purchased.
They put a stupid disclaimer in there already, but then they still somehow remove content. Wtf is wrong with these people.

I'm still waiting for a physical copy. No physical copy = no buy.
And if the physical copy should be censored in any way = no buy.

No, that was Laura Croft, her American twin sister, who is closely related to Nathan Drake.

Limited Run Games selling a physical version at a not a bad price (if like me all you care about is the disc and not the tat that comes with the collector's edition)!

Appears the standard and deluxe editions are available through other sites. Just the big fancy collector's edition is a LRG exclusive (though even then, you can get it via the official TR merch store). The price tag for the collector's edition stings, but those Lara figures won me over. Gonna place an order come pay day.

Are there close-ups available?
I was hoping for an art book.
The price point is really too high for me. I think I will grab the regular Deluxe Edition. Already own the remastered soundtrack anyway.

There is an older art book available in Japan, which is superb.

The remastered games lowest price so far was 22.99, which is decent for a 29.99 game set of 1 2 and 3. When it hits 9.99 or less, I'll buy it. I have the games already, but am interested in the updated visuals mode and improvements to the controls.

I would say it's worth it, regardless. Each of the 3 games has their respective sizeable DLC expansions included, so collectively it's more like 4 games in 1.
