Audio is still the same DTS-HD HR as on the old Blu-ray so I'm very cautious what this disc will be like..

My heart was skipping a beat when i saw Der Untergang getting a 4k but after reading this and Constantin's questionable rep i will hold off in the hope that another studio will do a 4k and do it justice !

All current HD masters are suffering from mis framing/zoom and 1.78:1.

Along with sharpening, edge enhancement, poor contrast and just about anything you can think of. Quite honestly I've never seen this movie look good on any release, will be curious to see if this 4K can finally "fix it".

FYI - 2K DI ditched. 35mm newly scanned, there will be English subtitles. DTS-HD MA 5.1, 1.85:1 ratio.
I still remember a magazine article, they only used one Blue screen in this movie. Sure there are more vfx effects.

Haven't Constantin Film moved on from High Res audio by this point? I see The Name of the Rose listed with DTS HD-MA, same with the new Three Musketeers movies.

Would definitely make sense. It's probably bluray-disc.de who is wrong then.

So they rebuilt the film from scratch, like The Pianist and Brotherhood of the Wolf?

That's great news! I just wonder if there will be any telltale signs, like with The Pianist.

Can anyone provide information on whether the theatrical or 'extended' better represents the film maker's intent? I've actually never seen the theatrical and had never heard of it before now, having always watched the UK blu release. From my research the theatrical is 120 min vs the 155 min extended, and I'm concerned the film as intended may have been cut down to hit an arbitrary two hour target.
