So, I am considering upgrading my TV to a Kuro plasman, but I go to Best Buy to see what it looks like first (not buy, just see its picture quality). Well, they have their 50 or so TV's on the wall all displaying, what looks like, a regular black and white DVD...what the hell!! I ask them to play a Blue Ray, and the guy just says "can't do it" and walks away, what a salesman!!
So, I am trying to figure out why on all of their HDTV's they are not displaying a blue ray, or something of the like to show them off, gah!! I want to see what it looks like before buying! |

I'm kinda turned on to the LED tv's though, and I can actually see those at Best Buy. I'm not even sure on where else to look in this town for places that would have higher end TV's. I wish ultimate electronics was still open...at least you could view their stuff and buy it somewhere else!

The BestBuy near me has a thing about pushing lcd's over the plasma's. I remember them having analog cable hooked up to a 60" pioneer elite. Then they had bluray hooked up to a samsung lcd. I was asking the magnolia salesperson questions about the pioneer plasmas and he kept trying to sell me on the lcd's.

If you are going to spend a lot of money on something you should be able to view it on a decent source. As far as a blind buy I don't think you can go wrong with a Kuro or a Panasonic V-10. LED LCDs look nice in the store but if you watch a blu-ray you will notice that the LCDs have a video soap opera effect whereas the plasmas display a more natural cinematic effect. You should at least be able to view these TVs using a good source to decide which type of TV is right for you. Bottom line is that I won't buy from a store that won't allow me to evaluate their product first. |
