Default Tell me about True Blood?

Going to start watching this show. Is it an "addictive" show?

Is the AQ and PQ up to par with movie productions?

Excellent PQ and AQ for an excellent show. Top of the heap as far as TV productions go.

Yes it's addictive, which is killing me because I am waiting for season 2 on Blu before I watch any of it on HBO. I have the first 6 episodes on deman but refuse to watch until I can get the whole season... Tough though. Get it, watch it, you will love it.

Very addictive, and I don't know about the PQ or AQ seeing as how I haven't picked up the series yet on Blu-Ray.

Addictive does not even begin to describe it. It is fantastic, and it gets better with every new episode.

I blind bought the first season on blu and love the show. Couldn't wait for season 2 to start. I watch the first episode and then our free, analog HBO is no more. Oh well, at least when its on blu, I can watch it non stop if I choose.

It's as gay-metaphoric as "Big Love", though.

Thumbs up Sookie, Bill, Eric, Jessica, Lafayette, Pam - you just can't get enough!

HBO HD AQ and PQ are great on True Blood! We're still re-watching season 1 on BD since this show is so addictive you just can't get enough. On Sundays, 9 PM can't get here soon enough. Always set the DVR to record the 11:30 encore presentation and then watch the current episode a couple of times during the week before the next Sunday episode. AWESOME show and presently the best on TV. Eric Northman is the best vampire since Lestat!

I'll give this a go one of these days. Maybe after Lost is done.

Good show but overrated. Sorry people just answering the question. I liked the first season but between Vampires, Werewolves, changlings, and that super shakey chic the second season is getting a little over the top.

I'm using True Blood to occupy my time during the Lost hiatus.

Yeah, i'm not as into season 2 as i was season 1. I'm hoping they can really finish off the last 3 episodes with a bang and wrap it up nicely. For the record, i don't think the werewolves have appeared yet, but apparently they're in the books.

Yeah, I heard them mentioned in a couple of episodes so I am expecting one to show sooner or later.

More to the point of the OP. The PQ and AQ on the season 1 bluray is pretty top notch. I think bluray.com gave it 5 stars and for the most part i would have to agree.
The show itself is really good and can be very addictive at times. Don't go in expecting award winning dialogue and acting, even though both are serviceable in respect to the given characters and genre. It's pure entertainment with a slathering of cheese on top (especially some of the special effects), but it can be downright hilarious and sexy at times. The music is great, the opening credits are great, and there are quite a few characters that you'll love to hate.

Waitaminute...

You're telling us that you think that a television show about Vampires... is a little over the top because it has Vampires in it...?

Really?

Is it better than Twilight? I rented it because of all the hype but wasn't impressed. So many films about Vampires these days lol.
