If you’re willing to pay the extra money the gift wrap option upgrades Amazon to a box. Sadly there’s nothing to guarantee a SteelBook doesn’t get damaged before it’s boxed.

I know, but I resent having to pay extra for no other reason than basic competency in shipping.

Nice.
The B2G1 is over. Got too busy last week. Not sure if it would have worked but was going to get three then return two and see if the one left is still discounted. Would have been worth a shot.

If the release date price drop auto-refund happens for this movie the same way it happened for the Disney Plus steelbooks, you could end up with a second refund since you weren't refunded $13 for Apes, but rather for "your order."

Preordered from Amazon. Initial streaming reviews aren’t good, but plenty of time to cancel.

I, for one, wholly enjoyed it. To me it’s just about on par with any of the previous trilogy.

I’ve seen a ton of theatrical release movies this year and KofPofA remains my absolute favorite so far.

confused about what streaming reviews have to do with anything? the movie came out in May and was generally praised. the worst criticism I had seen was that either it was just ok or not as good as the previous films.

This was actually my favorite in the series. Much better than I thought it was going to be. Might actually pick up the 4K. Don't own any of the others even though I thought they were decent.

Had the same thought. Like we should be waiting in anticipation for reviews of a movie most of us saw months ago.

mine was delivered from walmart today. i was pretty excited when i lifted up the box and i did not hear a disc rattling around inside...that was until i flipped the box over and i found a scapel slit running edge to edge through my package! UGH! why would they drop this package off! i cannot imagine that nobody say this damage. if so, that is equally careless. the blade pierced the plastic wrap and created a scratch across the width of the back of the item. most of that width is just the protective/decorative cardboard. but on either edge of that are deep gouges through the steelbook itself. in any case, this wont work for me obviously. very dissapointing. i ordered this what seems like months ago. the day it went live. now it is soldout at walmart and the price has increased back 39.99 at amazon. plus, amazon packaging is the worst there is. my last steel from them shipped in one of those thin, unpadded, plastic packages. and that turned out as one would expect (ie loose discs and badly dented/disfigured).

My copy came in.Perfect condition. I can confirm that the Blu Ray disk only has the Raw Cut and the other special features.I still think this was stupid move and they should of at least have the theatrical Blu Ray disk included in the steelbook release making it a three disk set(would make the steelbook even more premium if that was the only way to get all three disks). I am following my plan. I redeemed the digital copy which has is the theatrical cut and may buy the Blu Ray release around the holidays during Black Friday sales.

Got my steelbook from Walmart today.

It's in great condition, however, the 4k disc has 3 noticeable scratches! Man, I'm getting scratches on about 40% of my 4k discs lately. Very frustrating!

Wal-Mart order delivered this afternoon. I will also be keeping an eye out for a price cut on the blu-ray movie edition; I don’t like this trend of not making combo packs for new releases, and keeping the prices just as high. Maybe we should let the apes take over, they’ll probably do a better job than the current decision makers.

Does anyone know if this steelbook will be in Walmart stores?

I received my copy from Walmart in those cardboard mailers.

At a first glance, it surprisingly appears to be in decent shape, but of course it HAD to have a loose disc.

Based on the loud rattling inside it sounds like it is the front (4K) disc and, based on prior experience, there is a 99% chance it's completely scratched up from scraping against the plastic disc hub underneath on its way in the mail. I'd rather exchange it than risk a damaged disc.
