Hate the character designs. The woman is generations of otaku imitating each other until cookie cutter details could no longer be made more stylized without the whole design falling apart under all the hair products that she wouldn't have access to in the future. But it's squarely enough on the threshold that I don't wanna look at it. The eyes suck too. Modern anime is shit, almost universally.

The terminator can't aim. She wouldn't be able to wuxia around like that on a rope at the end if it could aim worth a damn.

I’m generally not an anime fan. But I do think that this looks very good; it’s already looking better than most of the Terminator sequels.

Apparently this goes for more of a horror take like the first film.

If that's true than I will immediately start watching it because that's what the franchise has been missing for a long time.

I just watched the First two Episodes.

It is okay. The Action is good and pretty gory. The Part in the Future was great, but the part in 1997 is a bit boring. To much explaining and I don't like the 3 kids.

Still I will keep watching

I can’t figure out if this is supposed to be watched in Japanese or English.

I turned on the English track and the subtitles pretty much matched what was being spoken. So maybe it is supposed to be in English but the text is in Japanese.

I also hate that the oldest son has a fetish for tearing apart and abusing electronics.

Recommend the Japanese audio since the Anime is made in Japan and takes place in Japan while Skynet is United States. Yes, this is a completely new timeline with some similarities to the Terminator movies.

If only the live action sequels/prequels were as good as the Anime.

As for the son why, he takes apart electronics, I do not want to ruin it for you, just keep on watching your question will be answered.

Continuing watching it gets better and yes, it is gory which Terminator live action movie should also be while current sequels fail in violence and story telling.

The fact that James Cameron is planning to reboot Terminator I have zero hope that it will be anything like his original and said while back he wants to make it about gun violence. James Cameron no longer cares because he knows Hollywood cares only about making profit and politics.

I just finished the Season last weekend and and during the Course of the Season it really starts to get totally boring.
Over all you can tell the complete Story within 2-3 Episodes. Okay the few Action scenes were great, but over all not good enough to watch a possible Season 2

This was OK. Nothing more, nothing less. A couple of decent action sequences & a lot of blood, but most of the characters are either dull or incredibly irritating (ironically, the AI the father is working on seems to have the most depth out of all of them). The son who likes to take machines apart comes across as a complete psychopath for most of it.

Some of the timey-wimey stuff made no sense at all:

[Show spoiler]If going back in time creates a completely new timeline, why bother going back in the first place? It's not going to save the people you're trying to save, & for Skynet it's not going to change anything in their current present either

There was nothing special about the animation & the music was quite bland too. Sorely missing the Brad Fiedel theme.

The idea of
[Show spoiler]the two competing AIs - Skynet & Kokoro -
was quite inventive, but overall it felt like a waste of the IP for a lot of the running time. Pity.

They never really explained the time travel rules in these movies. I always thought it was closed loop. Now it is creating a new past timeline which creates a new future timeline. Just going back changes something that interrupts normal time flow.

I think if you are invested in the Terminator franchise it's worth a watch, otherwise it's not amazeballs

Time traveling is not a straight line which it was explained in the anime you could end up in the right year but not the timeline you existed from or other anomalies. Even the Terminators had no idea when to send back if they ended up in the correct timeline.

The TV Series Terminator: Salvation live action series also created of multiverse universe. The way the series ended was close the way anime reveals she was his

in Salvation John Connor meets his

After the last Terminator movie, the closed loop timeline is thrown out when John Connor is killed and replaced with a female in Mexico.

The closed loop was done with in the 3rd movie. They went further with Genesyis.

But again, it begs the question: If it's not going to change your own timeline, why bother going back at all?

I wasn't even aware there was a Terminator Salvation tv series. When did that come out?

Once the new timeline is established they are changing a new future. Is that new future worth saving? Genesyis even had that version of Kyle having new memories.

I just finished watching this.

So.... I really liked this. The effort they put into this was special. Its nods to Cameron's films where very mute at times. More matter of fact as the story went along instead of literally just stopping the whole thing to show off a reference. None were loud about itself. It just did what it wanted and if you got it nice, otherwise story was going forward with or without.

The violence was very appropriate w/ it being Terminator. So that was nice to see. Terminators ain't nice that is for sure.

I can't tell if I liked where it left us. It wasn't bad but it may have been something I may not have wanted.

Saw it Japanese, seems like Rosario Dawson is in the English dub. So I'll have to give that a whirl too.
