Venom: The Last Dance 3D (2024)

EDIT: Venom: The Last Dance is scheduled to release in RealD 3D and IMAX 3D worldwide on October 25, 2024.

New posters of Venom: The Last Dance installed at the multiplex in my district indicate a RealD 3D / standard 3D and IMAX 3D release on October 25. Listed formats are on the bottom right corner of the poster.





No word on the 3D conversion yet, but it could be done by DNEG who has also done the conversion for the previous Venom films.

Wonderful! Now I hope and pray Turbine can step in the footsteps of Random Space Media someday, releasing Sony titles like this and part 2 and Men in Black: International.

I really hope so too we sadly haven’t seen any unreleased 3D Blu-Ray’s from them yet. Hopefully they can Update us on some plans for this soon.

They announced a lot of truly amazing unreleased titles including "Mission Impossible: Fallout" & "Bumblebee" recently. Check the Turbine thread.

The film will be playing in 1.90:1 exclusively at IMAX screens.

I need VENOM 2 on 3-D Blu, dammit. I’m hoping by some miracle that Turbine can release it at some point. I don’t want to watch V3 before I watch V2, and I don’t want to watch V2 in 2-D.

I think RSM had confirmed that they wouldn't be able to release Venom 2, so I'm thinking Sony didn't even bother to create the 3D assets for home video. Based on everything we've seen they probably shut down their whole 3D pipeline for anything outside of the theatrical run.

I haven't checked, but I bet Venom 2 and Men In Black International aren't even on Apple Vision Pro.

Hope springs eternal of course, maybe Sony will go back and make the 3D version available for the AVP which could mean that there's some assets they could license to Turbine.

Venom 3, all the trailers I've seen of it never mentioned any 3D at all, so I thought for sure they abandoned 3D, but a really nice surprise to see some 3D showtimes at my Cinemark next weekend, October 25, 2024.

This film has some tough competition from horror films in 2024 October, but maybe it'll do okay. Would be great if Turbine could acquire the rights and release Venom 2 and 3 on blu ray 3D in 2025, seeing that the German distributor has releases of MI Fallout 3D, Migration 3D, Jurassic Park Dominion 3D, etc.

Those are all Paramount and Universal, so unfortunately no Sony releases.
Other issue is that Sony - at least when RSM was around - did not have home video elements for Venom 2 3D to even license out. Pretty sure they killed their 3D home video pipeline prior to that release. Note the lack of Venom 2 and MIB:International even on the Apple Vision Pro.

That said, hope springs eternal, maybe with Apple dropping some $$$ on the studios Sony will run this through the full 3D pipeline and Turbine can make a play for those assets. Would make a great combo if they could snag Spider-Man NWH as well.

Thanks for those details. That is unfortunate.

Glad that blu ray 3D is still going with some new releases in these 7 years after TV manufacturers dropped the 3DTV feature for 4K back in 2017, now almost 2025.

I am a bit angry with our cinema chains here is South Australia. Not one is showing "Venom: The Last Dance" in 3D. Not one. I know we are one of the smaller states but Adelaide does have population of 1,379,000.

The small inland town of Muswellbrook in New South Wales with a population of 16,469. They have a twin cinema installed in the Muswellbrook District Workers Club. They have 2 sessions per day of Venom: The Last Dance in 3D.

Sony is not even requesting for at least 1 3D show, its totally on the theater operator if they want to do it or not, i bet most will pass on it. In ours here i will do 1 3D show in the evening, everything else is 2D.
