That's awsome news! Funny you should mention Talladega Nights. There's at post at Beyond3D that states that Talladega Nights will be included with every PS3 at launch! Big time rumor but at least he's got some pics to prove he was at the EB convention. http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/showpo...2&postcount=44 |

Sweet! All 3 are now purchases instead of rentals.
The quick release of Click should also help finally eliminate those "Samsung doesn't play BD50" posts that come up still. Why release a disc that isn't able to play on the only player on the market? Last edited by Chris Beveridge; 10-05-2006 at 08:36 PM. Reason: more mental material to post! |

I swear I'm not trying to bring avs stuff here but the comments about this release are great. I've now seen it said that
1) Click is being aimed at the "ps3" demographic Well, duh, that's someone in their 20's to early 30's who has money and an HDTV. You know, people with money? 2) That since it's a 107 minute feature it doesn't count. Black Hawk Down will be the real test. Of course, there's the fact that the extras are in HD - you know, the area that everyone keeps saying both sides are faltering on, not providing HD extras. What really gets me though and it's unstated is that: 0) BD 50 is science fiction and will never happen. Gee, can anyone remind me WHO said that and who agreed with them? I seem to remember at least a few people. The talking points keep disappearing and the new ones are even more amusing since they smack of desperation. Click! may not be the ideal movie for a BD50. BUT it is one of the first movies to come out on HD using the new HD cameras for its original filming so it may provide quite a lot of detail to be seen. Other reports that sony is looking to shift 3/4th's of their production to BD-50 (because of mpeg2 of course) will allow for movies to go past the 25 gb mark but also leave plenty of room for the extras. We're looking to actually get what we've been asking for and some folks keep moving the line. It's good in some senses but in others it just makes me laugh. I'm all the happier I'm no longer able to post since it's reduced my stress level and I'm actually enjoying my stuff more now that I don't feel like I'm constantly trying to defend it since as things are now out and coming out, it's defending itself. |

Im thinking Click was already going to be a reference title at 25gb. It seems Sony has smartened up(maybe since getting that new guy) and they know this title is going to be really analyzed so they slapped it on a 50gb... I would of loved to have seen BHD released first, but with the way its filmed, it might not be the best idea (grainy, washed out, over saturated, Bruckheimer production).

I think there could be a million players out there each with 5 BD50 titles in their collection and he would stick with his line. He simply can't afford to be wrong. ![]() |

What's amusing is that he's using that argument to sway the early adopters but for the thousands of folks taht don't read the forums, they don't know or even care if it came from a lab line. All that matters is that it's released and it plays.
Click was already high on my list for how it was being filmed. Now I want it even more. |

The hilarious box office hit, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, starring writer and producer Will Ferrell and Oscar®-nominee John C. Reilly, hits shelves December 12. All three titles were authored by the Sony Pictures Digital Authoring Center (DAC) and manufactured by Sony DADC."As consumers make the leap to Blu-ray's incredible high-definition picture and theatre quality audio, they want access to a diverse selection of content packed with added-value features and reference titles like Ridley Scott's powerful war epic Black Hawk Down, that will add to their growing Blu-ray Disc libraries," said David Bishop, President, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. "We're proud to be the first studio to deliver a 50GB Blu-ray Disc title to the marketplace with Click on October 10, along with two other highly entertaining titles this year that offer the expanded capacity and special features only a 50GB disc can provide." CLICK Shot entirely in high-def, the Blu-ray format captures Click's many poignant and humorous remote-controlled moments with pristine picture quality and superior sound. Click is the first SPHE Blu-ray Disc title to include all bonus features from the DVD release in high-definition and also features uncompressed PCM audio. Unable one day to determine which of his many remotes turns on the television, he decides that a universal remote control will solve all of his problems. On Michael's search for the perfect device, he meets Morty (Christopher Walken), who gives him a one-of-a-kind remote with magical powers that allow him to perform TiVo-like functions. As Michael fast-forwards through annoying quarrels with his wife and mutes the barks and begging of Sundance, the family dog, he begins to feel in control of his career and personal life. However, when the remote starts to override his choices, Michael begins to truly appreciate and embrace the life he already has -- the good, the bad and the ugly. BLACK HAWK DOWN Black Hawk Down grossed more than $100 million at the box office and is a gripping true story about bravery, camaraderie and the complex reality of war. Awesome. In your face Amir.
Was just reading some more AVS. Now it appears that until someone other than Sony DADC makes DL's, these releases mean nothing. Last edited by GaS; 10-06-2006 at 09:49 PM. |
