Hoping there might've been a 3D Transformers One trailer of this before Deadpool & Wolverine 3D but nothing. Will be interesting to see if this has decent 3D if it's converted instead of Natively rendered from the film.
Not happy about the trend lately for CGI animated films converting the 3D. These films are prime reasons to natively render out the dual images of a virtual 3D camera filming the base eye view and the other eye for strong 3D. Then again, a lot of efforts of CGI animated films that were natively rendered out, could often be mild 3D efforts. So maybe it's not as big of an impact to be concerned about. Most CGI animated 3D films in theaters under-deliver on the 3D IMO. Only a few really bold 3D CGI animated films in theaters, like Madagascar 3 3D, or the NWave 3D films for examples. |

I managed to get an early release screening of this in 3D today. The 3D is extremely good for a conversion; it looks very close to a native render, if not equalling it and there's some very complex scenes that SDFX had to convert with particle swarms that would have made more sense to use an actual 3D render instead (I'm wondering if they did a bit of both to be honest).
This is a very heavy depth-based presentation, with everything being obviously placed in 3D space in every scene; I don't believe I saw any scenes where they were taking it easy. I do believe there are some pop outs for some critical scenes (finger pointing and barrels of weaponry) however I've never been good at seeing these. Easily one of the best 3D movies you'll see this year I believe, my friend who typically dislikes 3D movies enjoyed himself as much as I did. Story wise if you like The Transformers (1984) and The Transformers: The Movie you will absolutely like this origin story of Orion Pax (Optimus Prime) and D-16 (Megatron) and has enough throwback references to the original series and movie to keep fans happy, as well as in-joke references that would make sense as well. Perhaps the only minor issue is Chris Hemsworth channelling too much of his Thor: Ragnarok swagger at the start of the movie which is understandable but he finds his own version of Orion Pax/Optimus Prime by the middle of the film to make it his own. There is also a short mid and after credits scene you should stay for. Essentially if you like The Transfomers and 3D it's a absolute no brainer to watch it. My only regret is not being able to see this in IMAX 3D. |

Thanks - I'm really hoping Paramount considers releasing this on Blu-Ray 3D (and not just AVP/Vudu) along with their other unreleased titles as it deserves to be seen in 3D. Fortunately even where I am the cinemas are screening it more liberally in 3D which they don't usually do which indicates how confident they are in the 3D conversion.

Yeah, probably a 2026 Turbine release. Gotta go to the theater if you don't want to wait that long to see it. Paramount doesn't stream their new 3D releases on Vudu. Maybe or maybe not on Apple Vision Pro.

Watched it yesterday. Sadly the IMAX showings were only in 2D so I had to watch it in RealD. I feel like the characters could have had more volume in them, but it had cool 3D moments with a few pop-ups here and there. There's a scene with particles flying all around that looks fine but it could've been better, it didn't look as amazing as particles in Star Trek Into Darkness or Pacific Rim, but it was serviceable. The great thing about animated movies was the native 3D renders, to bad they're going for conversions nowadays, but it still was a good conversion.
The third act is where the movie shines, action, animation, visuals and 3D took a notch up in the final battle, with wide shots of the planet's interior with a lot of depth. |

Yes, the colors looked great, but I found the 12 channel IMAX mix superior over the Atmos mix. I saw this movie yesterday in IMAX laser 3D and I thought the 3D ranged from good to very good. The best use of 3D was the backstory rendered in CGI 'sand' animation.
As to the movie, I absolutely loved it! |

Saw this in 4DX 3D.
This movie is awesome! I had doubts at first because the trailers made this look awful, like they took an awesome concept and made it a childish film with lol-random humor. But this film succeeded all my expectations, this is the DEFINITIVE Transformers movie. My only complaint is that Megatron turning evil felt a little forced, like there wasn’t enough character development to make it feel believable. Then again, you could argue that I’m just nitpicking. I highly recommend this! This was the first time I went to a 4DX theater, and now I want to see every movie with it. ![]() Overall, amazing movie! |

That's a little true, that it seems likes it's geared for a younger audience, but there was one point during this movie where my younger self and a smile emerged and my eyes and mouth were simultaneously expressing "Wow" - that's rare when a movie can do THAT |
