For those of you who may be wondering, note that this UHD release features the exact same new 4K scan and remaster that Second Sight is releasing in the UK on 10/11. And the new Blu-ray edition is mastered from this new scan as well. So if you’re looking for a more affordable option here in the States, now you have one available.

Aside from the price I'd say the only other pro for this release is having the original artwork.

These are almost certainly MOD releases (pressed discs), which would explain the short window between announcement and release date.

True. This is another reason I would have liked to see a boutique like Arrow get it. On a related topic, I'm actually kind of amazed Second Sight haven't ventured into the US market yet, seeing as most of the other major UK players have already.

If you didn't care about the SS LE version then this should be a fine pickup for the price, but obviously very cut down in terms of swag.

Pretty funny that thanks to Second Sight, WB will have its first Dolby Vision catalog title in a very long time, on an MOD to boot.

I see that’s the final cover art design. Wonderful! So relieved. Glad it’s a studio that doesn’t typically have shoddy compression on its releases, and I’m glad I can get it for cheap. I don’t need all the special features and swag from SS; I’m happy to trade all of that for the superior original artwork.

Hmm. That's an interesting point. They seem to go after titles that usually have US releases, but maybe they could release their Dawn release in the US.

Yep! Second Sight used to be good about giving us the original artwork on releases but they seem to have abandoned that now, which is a shame.
