I'm digging the groovy reversible art. Wish it would've come with a slip. At least there's a commentary, would've been cool to get an interview with Beatty, but I doubt he would make himself available to discuss such an obscure movie in his filmography.

Watching this now. It looks fantastic. But the plot/script is pretty lousy. By this time in the 60's they were running out of ideas for the type of silly romance/sex comedies that had started with Pillow Talk.
Beatty isn't bad though. Bob Cummings as a 56 year old bachelor living with his mother raises plenty of questions of the intentions. He's pretty campy, though it seems in real life he was completely heterosexual. Early on Donald Sutherland has an short walk on. |

I started listening to the commentary on the second watch, but it is so rambling and ill prepared, that I maybe made it through 15 minutes. He read from someone else's book. But I did learn things in that short time I didn't know: Beatty & Caron had been having a affair, and her husband filed to gain custody of their two children, so she had to go back to London. Beatty followed her, and they came up with this film as a way to work together in London where it was filmed, as a stand-in for Greenwich Village. Shortly after completing the film Caron broke off the affair with Beatty.
