Sorry for "bumping" my question again, but has there been any more details on the extras of this Dario Argento World of Horror release?

https://shop.plaionpictures.com/dari...s-cd-shop-exkl.

Considering it's 3 discs + one CD, I'm hoping it has a treasure trove of extras.

Also, I read that the new release of Cobra (Stallone) has all extras from the US Collector's Edition + deleted scenes.
Are the deleted scenes indeed present? And what are the odds of it getting a standalone BD release (I really dislike these mediabook releases, since they frequently arrive broken to me, especially from Amazon, and I can't easily replace the packaging; plus, I really have no use for the included DVD)?

thank you

World of Horror is a new scan from the negative. The audio will be complete OG Italian without the English voice over mix that was on most of the other world wide physical media releases till now. The sequels by Cozzi are produced on video and therefore in SD. There is an Argento trailer show, a Q&A with Argento, art cards, a book and the CD. The CD is a compilation with themes from Argentos films under the direction of Claudio Fuiano. The box is around 18 cm in height and width.

Thank you.
If parts 2 and 3 are SD, that Q&A and trailer show has to be huge, to take up 3 BDs.

I'm a sucker for trailer reels, but sadly, this one will likely be in German.

Anyone in Germany willing to order Showdown in Little Tokyo for me? It's a real pain they don't ship to the UK.

Did anyone pick up Plaion's Dario Argento - World of Horror boxset?

I'm wondering if the trailers from the trailer reel on disc 3 are Dutch, or Italian/English/...?

thank you

Thank you for posting, had almost forgotten to read the newsletter. Gonna pick me up a few of these beauties.
Also, the Mastroianni box set looks really nice! I probably have a handful of movies of his wonder if I should pick it up.

Thanks for the heads up! I didn't paid any attention to the Mastroianni when it was announced, since I thought it's another re-release of all the La Dolce Vita, 8 1/2 and so on. But I got none of the included movies. Some of them are very odd choices. The only one I know it's got another BD release is L'assassino from Arrow, and I missed out on that. I may have to get this when it gets cheaper.

They certainly went all out to take original photos of the set and its contents, I wish more labels did that. Also the color palette reminds me of the Criterion Jacques Demy set. Which is not a bad thing.

Yes, I got that Demy from the US many moons ago. The whole design of the box, and choice of titles, doesn’t feel like a typical German release, and fits more the UK and US boutiques. I guess they included the shots since it must be a slow seller, because of the price and title choices. I didn’t noticed any buyer on German forums or on the few social media accounts I occasionally visit, and it’s released nearly a month ago. How you would handle Audio/subs? Do you speak Italian, or would you work with external subs?

This surely will drop below the 100 EUR with time. Atm Plaion direct is the most expensive. It can be had for 120 EUR from JPC with the 8% off I posted in the German Deals thread.

Italian is one of the languages I speak so luckily I don't need to worry about that aspect.

On November 12, 7 pm Berlin time, there will be another one of those Plaion Live Events on Youtube, where they reveal new releases, do give aways and stuff, but, there will probably be again a discount code valid for the evening.

Fingers crossed for many more Chan's and other martial arts releases in 2025.

I know what I would like to see announced during that next Plaion live event, but it's probably unlikely (unless there has been some positive news), a Blu-ray release of Back to the Streets of San Francisco.

[Show spoiler]

First official BD release of On Deadly Ground, Glimmer Man and Fire Down Below. Might have to get this. Also hopefully fixes the damp squib audio on Out for Justice too.

The US BD was 5.1 Dolby Digital, it wasn't original for sure, but the impact sounds were buried in the mix for some reason. To me we should hear every slam and bone break. I compared against the US DVD also 5.1, thinking something was wrong. They'd definitely messed up this different BD mix somewhere, the DVD was good.
