Wonder why it's not on Amazon?

I found "another" way to watch it online but it's so low quality and I need the highest quality possible

Ended up buying season 2 of the reboot for $5.99 and LOVED it. Been a Bryce Gheiser fan so I'm glad he was the lead. The monster was cool and there was fun horror/chase scenes and it reminded me a lot of Lights Out.

I just watched the premiere and it's actually quite good. I didn't have high expectations after not being able to get into the previous season but this one is surprisingly interesting. I like the characters enough and it's even a little bit creepy. Nothing I can't handle but kids would probably find it pretty scary.

Looking forward to the next episode.

Glad to hear that! I wouldn't mind checking this out, but I don't seem to have any streaming access to it. I'll have to check out the ol' cable box to see if I can DVR it.

Tonight's episode, especially the ending, was just, holy crap! I enjoyed last season, and still love the first one the most, but I feel like this season is better than last season just from this episode alone (and the buildup to it.)

In hindsight from the first two episodes, this has me going:

Paramount "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

I'm absolutely loving this latest tale; "Ghost Island." It's easily the best one yet of the long-form reboot. The evolving friendship/love between Leo and Max is so sweet. With only one episode remaining of this story, my theory is Max will sacrifice himself to save Leo and his friends. If that ends up being how it plays out, it will be so beautifully heartbreaking and poetic in that it was a one-sided false "love" that brought the curse of 'Ghost Island' into existence. I definitely see the potential for Max and Leo's building connection as being a 🌈 love that breaks the curse and sets all of the tormented spirits free.

Once again, this show knocked it out of the park with the finale and still is one of the greatest shows the network has ever put out. I'm so glad they decided to reboot it to begin with. If any show on the network deserves a blu-ray release, its this one.

LOVED season one.
Didn't care for season two.

Ghost Island was somewhere in between those. I thought it started strong but kind of ran out of steam in the last two episodes.

That said, maybe I'm pickier of this new version because the original series is one of my favorite TV series of all time. I constantly watch the DVDs and usually go through the entire series at least once a year. In fact, there is almost always one of the DVDs in my bedroom DVD player so I can put on an episode as I'm going to bed. I love it.

I think season one did a great job of playing for both fans who grew up with the original series and a new generation of young viewers. Seasons two and three feel exclusively for that younger generation with a couple references to the original series thrown in here and there.

It was kinda weird to have high school kids pretty much alone at a resort. They tried to comment on it by them telling the chaperone they did a bad job at the end. It would also show the kids picking drinks off of random drink trays, so I guess they were all non-alcoholic? I didn't understand how the ghosts could be physically present just like actual people. I think it's weird that these are called seasons, but I'm glad they are making high quality AYAOTD. It's great they are releasing these to DVD, but I wish it meant they made some nice releases for the original show, espeically now that the Amazon MOD service is over.

Are there any hopes of the original series plus the first revival (Season 6 and 7) getting a BD or at least a DVD reissue? I see online listings of the complete series BD for sale and am 99% sure they are bootleg releases.

I would certainly love for that to happen. Though the chances of the first revival getting a re-release are probably low considering it's not on Paramount+ at the moment (nor has it been released on DVD by Amazon back when they used to do MOD releases).

Considering we're already a year past the 30th anniversary for the original series, it would be a great time to re-release it soon. I didn't know the Amazon DVDs existed until they started to become OOP, which sucked as I missed my chance at getting it.

Randomly wondered about a Ghost Island DVD and it looks like it is coming out August 1, 2023. Walmart and Target have listings.

I have no idea about that. I don't have any streaming services at this point, but will be forced to at the end of the year as my cable company is going all streaming.

Coming October 15th, 2024....

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DB7XNX6D?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

I almost spit my drink out when I first saw it thinking it was the complete OG Series Then I saw the larger image and realized it's all three seasons of the limited series run.

I'm guessing it's just a repack of the other DVDs into this set. The previous DVD releases looked pixelated, so I wish the quality was a tad better this time around (better encode perhaps?). At any rate, it'll be nice to have all three in physical format (I already have them digitally).

With any luck this will spark a complete series set for the OG show some day, complete with all 7 seasons. Hey, a man can dream, can't he?

I would totally buy the OG if it was remastered on Blu. Would be so awesome. Same with goosebumps as well.
