Default With or Without Built-In Apps & Internet Connection.

In the past years, I have watched Blu-Ray & DVD movies through any multimedia player (including gaming systems that work for Blu-Ray / DVD movies: PS3, Xbox 360, & Xbox One).

Previously, I used to have a Sony BDPS5500 3D Blu-Ray Player with the built-in apps & Wi-Fi. Since January 2024, I purchased a Panasonic DMP-BD90P-K player that includes zero built-in apps from my local Walmart. Later on, I sold my Sony Blu-Ray player to a Disc Replay for good.

There is a difference between having built-in apps and zero built-in apps for any Blu-Ray player you can afford to watch at home.

Indeed. The difference is the built in or no built in apps.

I prefer to have my disc player be free of Apps because my ATV4K takes care of anything internet related.

A bodged Samsung BD player update a few years ago bricked a load of machines. BD Live is unfortunately dead.

Overall, I'd say it's best not to get one with 'fluff' built in, all the apps have limited life spans anyway. Just use a Roku or something similar for the apps.

No apps, no wireless, no bluetooth, just a good quality player that plays.
