Default Blu-ray fans freaking out on AVM$ about Disney

Man Disney announced that Underdog will be the last movie announced for 2007 and now the sky is falling at AVM$. Disney has always been slow with releasing titles I don't know why people are freaking out about Disyney possibly going neutral or HD-DUD exclusive. Disney has shown that they are strongly behind Blu-Ray with the big releases they are going to drop on Nov. 6th. With Cars coming, Ratatouille, & Pixar shorts I don't know how that is not showing a strong showing from Disney. Not to mention Meet the Robinsons is also coming out on Blu. No way is Disney going neutral or leaving for HD-DUD, thanks for hearing my rant.

Well honestly some of those people need to get a life and stop speculating. Unless there is an official announcement I consider it business as usual. Some people are letting this consume too much of their life.

Disney has most of their new releases announced for the year. I don't see what the big deal is. The Pixar titles are huge this fall. Let's give some time to Fox, and Warner, Warner, Warner. Disney has a great lineup for next year. Let them focus on catalogue titles, etc. The remainder of this holiday season will be left for summer blockbusters..and Warner, Warner, Warner.

When has logic ever calmed down anyone on those forums? Also, it was probably started by someone from the Red Army.

Um.... yeah. we are approaching the end of the year and they have announced the last titles for "this year". How is that surprising to anyone?

Disney does not want people waiting for January/February releases as it might hinder holiday season sales so they are not going to announce anything for 2008 until it get's closer to Christmas.

Please provide a link.

PS. I also doubt this is panic is being started by actual Blu-ray supporters but rather HD DVD supporters masquerading as Blu-ray owners.

Isn't Disney just running out of time to cram any more films into this years releases?

That's retarded....

Underdog has a D&D release with dvd on 12/18/07. Unless they want to release a bunch of new movies on or after christmas, obviously movies released around this time will be among the last of the year.

Just because they announced this title as their last title for this year, that does not mean anything. They have tons of titles that they already said they will release next year. Disney is firmly behind Blu-Ray and has been since before this whole war even started. They have been strong advocates of Blu-Ray and have stated time and time again that they feel Blu-Ray is the successor to dvd and that HD-DVD with it's limited disk space is not the future.

But you do realize that they already announced a bunch of stuff that is coming out on BD well into next year, even a year from now. The only reason this is the last one for the year is because this is the last movie they released that would be coming out on video that the had released in theaters this year. Don't know what they have coming out later this year, but anything being released now would be too late to hit home video. That is one of the biggest FUDs that HD DVD people are spreading is that Disney is giong to go neutral or switch sided. It is highly unlikely with all the BD support what with their traveling Blu-ray show. Did Disney have a traveling HD DVD show? No.

10/16 - The Invisible (Buena Vista)
10/23 - Meet The Robinsons
11/06 - Pixar Shorts
11/06 - Cars
11/06 - Ratatouille
11/20 - Badder Santa (Buena Vista)
11/20 - Santa Clause 3
12/04 - Pirates World's End
12/11 - High School Musical 2
12/18 - Underdog

10 movies released through year end, many of them D&D with dvd isnt enough? IIRC, they already announced some of their classics & others to come in 1Q08 as well. It's understandable that they dont want to release more of the catalogs just yet, as the new releases tend to sell better.

What do people expect the ENTIRE collection in one day then nothing until a new movie comes out? They have to space it out for max sells. It's business.

I think some people believe you can snap your fingers and come up with these things. If that were the case, we'd have every movie ever made on BD right now and everyone on here would have triple to quadruple mortages on their houses and everything else. For my pocket book's sake, I'm glad they are spacing these things out.
