Actually, usually they're not. The names are placed contractually due to billing. The art is designed to look the best to get people to buy/rent/watch the product.

One exception where they do match up is A Few Good Men. I mention this, not to prove anything (which this doesn't) but to add a small bit of trivia - in the actor's contracts, it was stipulated that on the poster all of their heads would be the same size. Strange but true.

you beat me too it, i think maybe 1 in 3 dvds actually match up face and name and that is being generous
