Kinda odd they didn't put out the 4K version last year when they issued the bluray (from the 4K scan).

If I bought that, I'd be kinda annoyed they're already asking people to pay for the upgrade...

I hope they use a better encoding/ authoring company. The compression of the "Fudoh" 4k UHD was kind of mediocre.

I decided to buy it. I'm a fan of insane cyberpunk films and "Pinocchio 964" definitely fits that category. Hopefully, Fukui's "Rubber's Lover" gets a future 4k or HD release.

It's not the best encoding but it's by far the best that film has ever looked on home video and I, for one, am happy to have a copy of it.

Well they pissed me off by announcing a $29 standard edition of their recent Kamen Rider Trilogy blu-ray disc (which they charged fans $70 for as a "website exclusive") which essentially contains everything from the "exclusive" minus the slipcover and a non-essential 10-minute bonus feature.

Super lame for Kamen Rider fans as well as those who bought their Pinocchio 964 blu-ray.

I followed up directly with Media Blasters on my order email and this morning they told me "Will be shipping next week right now is the plan."
