Agreed, really enjoyable effort. It’s from my part of the world and rings true much of the time. The onl6 issue I had was with Daniel Blake’s son. I thought his acting was shocking.

Actually, Daniel Blake didn't have a son in the film. When Katie (the young single mother) asked him if he & his late wife ever had any children, he said he wanted them, but that they never did.

He did have some young friends whom he was helping & who helped him to some extent; they lived in the same apartment complex where he lived.

Arte has previously been useful for their branching How to Make a Ken Loach Film app. They're currently streaming a new making of documentary until 18th July, featuring new interviews and making of footage from 2016, in addition to context about austerity. Very heart wrenching and makes me want to rewatch the film.

I just watched it and yes. The encode is very poor. I think its a great film, but this really got me out of the movie. Such a shame, but eone is gotta be eone.

If it helps, eOne have pretty much ceased operations in the UK.

People are at this very moment losing vital care hours and or/respite care hours. My fear is that we end up back in the dark days with the horrific understaffing of care homes and people who so desperately need help, being abandoned by the system. That should fill people with horror.
Things haven't improved since you made that post, and the situation for the disabled is as dire as ever in this country. John Pring from the Disability News Service wrote a book called The Department, about atrocities the DWP has commited against the disabled, all relating to real cases where the people in question died as a result. Every MP was given a copy of the book, but as far as I know there's not been a single case of one referencing reading it. Only Jeremy Corbyn is known to have at least acknowledged recieving it.

Worked in social care for many years, including working with client’s families obviously, and the frustration is very real, as you say.
In my opinion, there is a lack of consistency and communication.

That’s all I will say on that subject, just wanted to acknowledge your post in a meaningful way.
