Not sure I want to look at a bloody ear stump every time I take this off the shelves.

This is a reprint. Best Buy released this in 2022. Only this time they have tinted it pink.
Yikes.

It's hard to imagine how Lionsgate could make this artwork even worse than the Best Buy version, but they found a way!

I splurged on this version.

The artwork won awards, so why not use it again?

I was looking forward to a reprint of this, however even though I typically love pink, I am not digging the tint on this compared to the original printing at least based off the original images.

This does have the Lionsgate Limited logo on the spine of the slip, so a few other small changes beyond just the tint. I feel like this will vibe a bit better with the other new SteelBook’s than the original release, and I actually kind of like the pink, but it is a very odd choice rather than a new artwork that could have been even more in line with the new 3 SteelBook’s.

Also missed opportunity not to bring back some archive extras here, so frustrating we have a few higher profile movies that have gotten less extras over the years.

That one is so beautiful! It makes the film look like a pulp fiction novel. I just ended up getting the standard release and sticking the 4K disc in the Tarantino Mondo box (it surprisingly holds).

They released a UK Jackie Brown a few years back that looks like a vintage poster, and I might get that given its my favorite Tarantino. It would go nicely with this pulp cover.

Mr. Pink has nothing to do with the ear scene, so this cover makes no sense.

I'm surprised they didn't just go crazy and make one for every color.

Since I did it for the other Tarantino Steels, here's a gif I made of the video from the Lionsgate page

So, they’re printing the j-card info directly onto the slip rather than rear artwork? That would be lame as hell for a $40 ‘limited’ steelbook.

That's how all Lionsgate clear slip releases work.

I picked up the Best Buy release on day 1 for $22. This is $30, since it's a reprint and not a new release.

It's the other releases they're pricing at $40, and that's are double what these would've been at Best Buy (for similar barebones SteelBooks). Those prices increases started as soon as Walmart/Amazon took over doing these exclusives. They usually price them at $35, so compared to that Lionsgate isn't raising the price that much.
