Default Blake's 7 - The Collection

I recently got the set from the UK , the first season. A couple of things, does the aust release come with the booklet(the one which came with the Uk one, to be frank, was just alright, and certainly not in the same league as the WHO sets).

Also, general question for a B7 fan, any idea on when we might see S2, 3 and 4, and are people waiting for the inevetible boxset of all 4 seasons together and possible other extras not in the individual releases?

I think we will most likely see one series a year.

I seem to remember that's how they came out on DVD twenty years back (with maybe a slight delay between one and two due a legal issue...? I can't remember, too long ago).

I finished watching Deliverance last night and thought the film footage in this one in particular looked great. Only Orac to go now! I wonder how much of the film footage still survives from Season 2.

Yep, local release has the booklet.

Is the Aust using the same thicker Bluray cases as the UK, unlike the US version which uses a slimmer case with even slighter disc hubs and no interior artwork on the inside of case sleeve reverse?

Aussie BDs have the thicker cases. Although they're generally not as sturdy as the UK ones these days.

My post won't be revealing any magic dates but I can only offer that work must be continuing on the sets. and could take a while yet to get all four seasons. The release of STAR TREK TNG required two different companies to work on restoration and the second company that worked on season two produced lesser results than what was achieved in season one, coming across as inconsistent and particularly grainy. Metrics of sales may be an influence as well. *hope not*

ST TNG was shot on film, B7 was shot on SD videotape. No point comparing the two.

Oh yeah. Completely forgot about that. I guess I was taken by the similarities with updating g the visual effects, like they did with TOS. Great comparison in the end eh?

Edit. I was also assuming the work to be intensive was a reason why each season was released singularly, rather than all in at once. It may be an ongoing process technically.

A season a year makes sense to me, as it's the same team doing these as the Doctor Who sets. 2-3 Doctor Who and 1 B7 set per year seems reasonable, and not a huge financial impost for collectors (as I suspect there is a lot of overlap of people buying both collections).

Picked up the set a few weeks ago. Saving it for a day when I can really plow through the new bonus material. Hoping we ultimately get all four seasons remastered, especially because S4 has always been the most in need of new visual effects.
