Didn't see a thread this this one. Rebellion makes good games and this looks like it'll satisfy my Far Cry itch. Late March release date.

Might be the closest to a Fallout experience we get until like... 2045. I'm keeping my eye on this one too

Big fan of post apocalyptic survival and exploration games, I'm also interested in this. Looks very promising.

Absolutely loving this game. I got it last Friday and have put over 16 hours in so far. Can't recommend it enough.

I fired this up on GamePass today and played for about an hour. I really like the setting and exploration. I'm feeling more than a little fatigue with open world games, especially ones with stealth mechanics, so I think this will be one of the rare occasions where I put all the difficulty sliders to easy so I can just enjoy exploring the world. I like the visual design and it looks lovely on PC.

This has mostly positive ratings on PSN store PS5 for Atomfall, from the makers of Zombie Army Trilogy and Sniper Elite games.
Quote:
A survival-action game inspired by real-life events, Atomfall is set five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England.
Explore the fictional quarantine zone, scavenge, craft, barter, fight and talk your way through a British countryside setting filled with bizarre characters, mysticism, cults, and rogue government agencies.
From Rebellion, the studio behind Sniper Elite and Zombie Army, Atomfall will challenge you to solve the dark mystery of what really happened.
Player Driven Mystery: Unravel a tapestry of interwoven narratives through exploration, conversation, investigation, and combat, where every choice you make has consequences.
Explore this Green and Unpleasant Land: The picturesque British countryside, with rolling green hills, lush valleys, and rural villages belie the dangers that await you.
Search, Scavage, Survive: You’ll need to scavenge for supplies, craft weapons and items, and fight desperately to make it out alive!

Desperate Combat: With weapons and ammunition scarce, each frenetic engagement will see you blend marksmanship with vicious hand-to-hand combat. Manage your heart rate to hold a steady aim and ensure you have the energy you need to reach for your cricket bat and land the killer blow.

Green and Unpleasant Land: The picturesque British countryside, with rolling green hills, lush valleys, and rural villages belie the dangers that await you. Navigate cult-controlled ruins, natural caves, nuclear bunkers and more as you explore this dense, foreboding world.

Reimagining Windscale: A fictional reimagining of a real-world event, Atomfall draws from science fiction, folk horror, and Cold War influences to create a world that is eerily familiar yet completely alien.

PS4, PS5

Great graphics. I see the game is separated into different open map zones. I don't think there's a day/night cycle, but it looks good for a first person game. Too bad they didn't add a 3rd person view too.

I am fully hooked on this now. I wish I had more time to play it properly but I can already tell that this is something I will play again some day once I've cleared my backlog and I want a good RPG to get lost in. Such a rarity to play an open world game that's done properly.

These days I rarely stay up past 10-11pm. Last night I stayed up until well past midnight playing Atomfall. I don’t think I’ve lost track of time like that since Elden Ring.

I had a lot of fun with my playthrough of Atomfall. The comparisons to Fallout were a double-edged sword for sure. It probably got more people to check it out, it sort of has that Fallout feel, but it really doesn't play like it... and you see that disappointment reflected in a lot of the user reviews out there. Which is unfortunate, it was a pretty good experience with a few problems, but definitely a nice effort for a new IP from a AA developer.

Instead of Fallout, i actually think this plays a lot more like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Just with a lot more freedom than that game.

To me it just felt more like an immersive sim than a typical open world RPG. 2025 is turning out to be a hell of a year for good games and I think when I'm finally through my backlog this will be the first one of them that I go back and replay.

anyone know how long/ big the expansion is? £15.99 seems a lot for just one new area (especially if the map is a similar size to one of the individual maps in the main game).

Couldn't find many solid answers on the length of the expansion, but there is a gameplay walkthrough on YouTube, took them about 7.5 hours.

That's actually not too bad tbh. I finished the main game in about 15 hours.
