I would but I bought a region free 4K player the other week and it plays everything without needing to faff around with region codes so I'm not sure what's locked and what isn't. This disc played fine last night if that helps at all!

Slightly off topic but can I ask:

1. Where you bought it?

2. It is region free and PAL friendly regarding any DVD, UHD or blu-ray? There are so few region A locked 4K discs out there that's it's barely worth worrying about (but who's to industry policy won't change in the future) but the ability to play region A (and C I guess) imports would certainly open up further collecting possibilities.

Thanks in advance.

I can confirm it is region locked. I just tested it.

Sure, I went for the Sony UBP-X700 and I've tried some Region A and B titles on it with no issues, I bought it here from Multiregionmagic - it's my second player from them and I've never had any problems.

Just a tip for anyone in Region B-land who's not Region Free and has a Panasonic UB-820 (maybe other Panny players but don't quote me on that) this disc plays using the 'Stop And Top' trick. That is, press the Stop button, then press Top Menu and the disc loads and plays correctly.

Question for those who have seen this fantastic movie:

Why did professor Ebony agree to help the students at the end after
[Show spoiler] 1) believing them to be guilty of murdering his predecessor and 2) they tried to assault his wife?
I can't quite get a handle on his motivation at the end.
