It’s funny to me that Wahlberg shaved his head but it still looks like a bald cap lol to me. I guess it’s just the shock of seeing him bald.

The "reveal" in the movie is played for a laugh, so the slip gag seems appropriate, I think.

The movie takes itself a lot less seriously than some of the criticism that's getting leveled at it. I saw someone online criticizing this aspect of the movie (which they clearly hadn't seen) because Mark being bald doesn't make him look "sexy or virial like many bald men". Completely missing the intent behind it.

I loved seeing him play the heel for once, and yes, the hair gag was totally worth the price of the steel alone.

It’s funny, I saw a review criticising the bald cap.

“ So now the reason you’re all here: the bald cap. Wahlburgers is wearing a bald cap that evoked laughter from every crowd I shared a theater with during the trailer. Laughter also occurred during the movie itself, when everyone in the room had ostensibly already been made aware of its rubbery existence. It’s a terrible bald cap. It’s a different color than Marky’s face skin, and during closeups you can actually see his hair bunching up under it.”

People see what they want to see.
