Default Marantz SA8003, thoughts?

I'm possibly looking into a player of sorts instead of using my PS3 for everything.

Anyways, 6th Ave is having their name your price event again, and they sell the Marantz player. http://www.6ave.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=MARSA8003 I thought maybe I'd take a stab at their low ball pricing event and see what turns up.

Is there anything out there that is comparable to this player? Maybe someone has some first hand experience with it. Mostly browsing here, but any information would be helpful.

Good luck Drew. Let us know what the outcome is. I have the Marantz PM 8003 amp (which I really do like) and have had the SA 8003 on my short list for several months now. For the price point/feature set it seems like it would be a most excellent player. The few reviews that I have been able to find on it have all reported it is a top notch player. If I hadn't spent so much money on both tweaks and that large lp collecetion in the last few months I'd be over at 6th Avenue right now.

It has a reputation of being an excellent SACD player, though I believe it is limited to stereo playback, which lessens its value to me. Marantz has produced some of the better sounding SACD machines at any price range.

Drew,

You may wish to consider this close out on the Denon DVD5910CI instead of the Marantz:
