Throw Down (2004) 4K UHD - WCL Limited Edition - Blu-ray Forum

Disk Kino is going to release the UHD of Johnnie To's 2004 film THROW DOWN on March 7th.

The film will be presented in Dolby Vision, an exclusive Cantonese Dolby Atmos track will be included apart from original 5.1 mixs for both Cantonese and Mandarin. Extras will only be archival making of and the Johnnie To interview.

Eureka let their blu-ray go out of print, maybe that’s a sign? (or maybe not - the likes of Paths of Glory and Touch of Evil are still in print)

Has me umm-ing and ah-ing over whether or not to bid for a reasonably priced one on eBay if we might get a 4K announced a few months later

Update: bought it. 4K restoration in 2K can look sublime after all, and this one had a limited edition slipcase yet went for RRP!

I will watch this on Saturday with the Dolby Atmos track. I will let your hear my thoughts when i have finished watching it.

Good looking disc. Nice details and good use of HDR. I only watched it in HDR10, but i was very happy with it. It has high video bitrate in most scenes from 70 to over 100 in some scenes. Most daylight scenes have little to no visible grain. Darker scenes have grain that looked mostly resolved and clear. I'm sad to say the Dolby Atmos wasn't as good as expected. It sounded too much for me like a regular 5.1 track, sadly. I can't take sceencaptures.
