88 Films will be releasing the Shaw Brothers film Lady with a Sword (1971) tentatively on April 22nd. The Blu-ray release features an awesome new cover from artist Kung Fu Bob, a new commentary track with David West, and a fold-out poster.

Yep, all are up at MVD with the same April 22nd release date. Was just about to mention that in the 88 Films thread. Was waiting til they were at the site before making a thread for this just to make sure the US were getting it too. Feel free to make a thread for the two JP ones.

Wow. No announcement on blu-ray.com for any of these gems. "Lady with a Sword" directed by Pao-Shu Kao is a Tarantino favorite. And "Jakoman and Tetsu" by Kinji Fukasaku is a blind buy for me. "Just when I thought I was out, they (88 films) pull me back in!"

My favorite is The Shadow Boxing. I think it's the classiest use of a holo/foil cover I own. Subtle and beautiful.

Oh nice. I didn't know they had been doing these foil slips, as I haven't picked up one of their SB releases in a while.

Just looked at The Shadow Boxing one, and yeah, it looks great. Still a bit peeved they didn't put commentary tracks on several of those SB films that came out last year, but I'll try and pick this one up.

Yep, I think most of their recent SB releases had foil covers, I got Lady Assassin the other month and that had one too. 88 Films is unrivaled at the moment on their slipcover game.

This movie peaked for me around the 30 minute mark. Establish the bad guys, have the "Lady" in an awesome brothel fight and she stops for reasons. Lily Ho carried the movie. The kid was not annoying and actually helpful. Loved the main bad guy's mother getting in the action to defend her son. Very entertaining movie.

This was a blind buy for me and I ended up LOVING this. Noticed this was another one written by Kuang Ni, who wrote most of my favorite Shaw films. Highly recommended!
