Welcome my friend! You have a wonderful setup, and I know the Esoteric gear very well, and to hear that your player out performs it by so much really makes me wish I could hear it! It must be amazing, and so detailed! I will be sure to make it a point to audition one when I can. Take care, and have a great weekend! D.

Brent, you'll definitely be kicked out by your condo association.

Haha!!! What else do I need? Even with the Titan, I'll still get an integrated tube amp down the road though....

BTW, I am anxiously awaiting the A-B blind test results of the AVR600 vs the Av888 from AVforums from a processing stand point. This should be interesteing

And on that note: we have managed to HI-JAck yet another thread!!!

Hopefully js666 will forgive us! I'll bet the AV600 will do quite well!

The consensus so far from people(on AVS and my dealer as well) who heard both is that the AV888 is better in 2-channel but not by leaps and bounds.

Not surprising, the AV600 is an incredible performing piece!

Guys,
M mistake on my HT thread. I have the AVR600 and using just the pre outs for HT(have had the AV888 on the brain for a while). I listened to a friend's AV888 and I truly could not hear the difference with movie processing. 2ch is a bit better but I would suggest taking a different route for 2ch listening. In my expereience, there are a lot of sub 2k dedicated preamps that will out perform 99% of the surround processors out there.

It's nice to know that you guys are being very civilized about splitting my components up....

JS, have you compared the internal amps of the AVR600 vs the Simaudio Titan? Is there a big difference?

Yes. Music sounds processed with lack of depth and "emotion" on the AVR600's internal amps. With that, I think for HT, most would be happy.

I really like the Sim for 2ch. IMO, one of the few MCH amps that can do double duty for both music and HT. Have had/heard many other MCH amp and I think this is the best for me. Something better would be significantly more money and more shelf space.

Looks great JS !!!

You got the Alpi finish on your Dali's, correct ???

I will most likely keep my Helicon's for home theater duty, and have been looking into speakers with a single efficient full range driver and low power tube amps for my next 2ch setup. Love what I have been hearing in that area !!!

Have a good one !!!

Thanks.
Alpi finish.
Nothing wrong with those Helicons 800s you have. A buddy of mine just bought a pair, paired with the Pass 250 and they sound great.
I see you have the Pass 150.5. Those are one of the few amps I have one eye on, along with Plinius and BAT . Too bad Pass doesn't make a 3ch amp, would make things so much easier for me.
