All signs point to no.

(The show recently surfaced on a number of digital platforms with the music extensively edited out /replaced)

Would be a miracle if it somehow got in. They've really been working hard clearing up these music licensing issues lately, though (S2 of Wait Till Your Father Gets Home, Regular Show)

Bitter sweet

Easily my most wanted series! Waited such a long time for this series to be available on disc, but certainly the music will be butchered.

Still very exciting! and I will be picking it up!

For those complaining about the music, there have been sets put out where music rights were cleared (or mostly). The Wonder Years and WKRP had most of their music rights cleared. There are a few songs they had to change but most are intact. Maybe they can do the same for Drew? Time will tell.

I was at the taping of the 3rd or 4th episode of this show in LA...

As we shuffled out of the set, Drew was at the exit shaking everyone's hand and thanking them sincerely for coming out...

My point was, if they were going to go to the effort to clear all the music mere months later, it would be insanely costly and stupid to waste time editing it all out after not doing so for years prior.

Just curious for anyone who's seen it on Pluto or Plex;

Do they replace the music with generic music/soundalike or do they just cut those segments?

It was a mixture of both. 5 episodes were completely removed because of the amount of licensed music they were unable to restore. Some of the licensed music's been restored, some of it hasn't. All the theme songs are there though and Seasons 7-9 are in their proper widescreen with Seasons 1-6 staying in their proper 4:3.

I grew up watching this show. As soon as pre-orders come up on Amazon, I'm making the pre-order and I have never pre-ordered a set before.

S07E01-S07E03. There was a fourth episode but it wasn't missing when Pluto added the show so it may have been accidental.

And that was all I needed to see. When I clicked his account it came up "We Love Physical Media".

Admittedly he had a pretty funny Brutalist meme on there, but I don't like or believe him, and have no intention of going back there. Don't feel like being outed or having the minors in my family doxxed anytime soon.

As much as I loathe Bill Hunt of Digital Bits, I'll defend him for once and say that at least he's not a vile, repugnant c*nt like Discfather is. So Bill Hunt for the win...for once.

Back to The Drew Carey Show, I've loved this since I was a kid, and hope it gets done soon. From what I've read (and I don't own the DVD), S1 is complete, uncut, and unedited. I didn't see sales figures, but Warner Bros. spiked S2-S9 because it was too expensive, and that was almost 20 years ago now.

(As a side note, I seriously can't believe that so many releases are that old, that I've seriously been around that long. I still remember trying to convince my mother to buy a DVD player until 2004...good times...)

My thoughts are either WAC or Shout if Drew Carey does get released. I wonder if they'll do individual seasons or a complete series, since Shout rarely does TV shows, and the few WAC is doing are ever so slowly working their way through the production line. With Superman also rumored and Cheyenne still not released, the TV shows could easily jam things up.

I find it so amazing that the first X-Files DVD set is nearly 25 years old. I think that was one of, if not the first TV on DVD sets (IIRC the Monty Python one from 1999 was the first)

Man, I remember watching this show in syndication after school on TBS in the early 00s but I haven't watched it since. I don't know if I will like it enough to drop $120 on it.
