Great movie but somewhat not so hot transfer. Picks up near the end but has some notable issues. Definite improvement over the DVD.

This movie was one of the first movies I bought on DVD back in 2000. I upgraded earlier this year to BD, and the PQ, and AQ is very good. Glad I have it on BD.

The BD is lots more than just acceptable IMHO. If you like the movie enough, wait for a good price and get it.

I have been on the fence of buying this on Blu-Ray since reading the review on the Forum.
But after seeing it on HBO in HD the other day,I was somewhat impressed with the upgrade in Picture Quality.So if the HD transfer is an improvement then I would truly imagine the Blu-Ray PQ has to be even a step above the HD.

Then the fact I found it for $14.99 at my BJ's is another checkmark in the "Buy It" column.The Movie itself is a Great One(in my opinion)and I would think the audio track should be great(Especially during the sea and storm parts of the film).

So,my mind is made up.If my BJ's still has it for $14.99 during my next visit I will be adding it to my collection.
Normally I find the reviews on the Forum to be pretty accurate,but there have been a few that I dont completely agree with.And most of these deal with movies I really like that the reviewer doesnt feel as strongly about.Or a film the reviewer just loves,that I didnt like too much personally.

So,if you are a fan of the film,I personally think it is worth the dip into adding it to your Blu Ray collection.
For me,I would watch it a couple of times.So the replay value alone makes it a good buy,especially if the price is around $15.00 or less.

Lucky you have it at a your BJ's. I've seen it on sale for $9.99 or $12.99, but that was a few months ago.

Just bought it from that Hastings used sale for 7.50......Love the movie so I guess Ill take a gamble with the transfer....

It really is not worth the upgrade, I experienced it first hand, not much of video difference between DVD and blu-ray.
