Who thinks a movie about Al Jolson's life would be great - Blu-ray Forum

There has been movies about Al jolson (and about his life such as "The Jolson Story") but I wondered if they made a modern movie about his life, with the death of Micheal Jackson still in the minds of many people, why not have a movie about the man that influence many musicians including Micheal Jackson, show our generation the original "king of pop", if you want to listen here's a taste. I would compare Jackson more toward's Jolson, not Elvis.

Do you really think that a movie about an actor who performed in black face will ever see the light of day. it will be labeled racist faster than the speed of light.

I'd maybe say it's interesting, but I doubt it can be great.

I think a more interesting film would be one about the black actors who performed in white face.

This is a life story that needs to be told, to show the current generations a thing or two about talent, and that not everybody has got it. So, so many of the current generation of singing acts have no bloody talent, only lots of marketing.

Thanks for the support, I think what could be a good Jolson, maybe Eric Bana, but I'm trying to think who would be a great jolson?

I also think the movie should be made my point was that it will stir up a hornets nest bigger than the movies you posted
