The Criterion release of Citizen Kane despite its incredibly comprehensive set of supplements is still missing some:
Citizen Kane in 5 Minutes (from the very first Criterion Laserdisc) A unique commentary (from the Image Laserdisc) Various interviews about the film (from the 50th anniversary Criterion Laserdisc) The Battle over Citizen Kane (from the Warner UCE Blu-Ray and 2-Disc DVD) RKO 231 (from the Warner UCE Blu-Ray) |

![]() ![]() ![]() No Country for Old Men adds new conversations with the Coens and Deakins/Diliberto with Megan Abbott, making of featurettes and archival interviews (assume these are EPK but don’t know if they’ve appeared on other releases.) The collector’s edition extras aren’t included, with hours of press tour Q&As with David Poland, David Powell, Variety, EW, Creative Screenwriting, NPR, ABC, In-Store, Charlie Rose, WNBC, C4, KCRW and Spike Jonze. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Many of the films from the Essential Fellini boxset have never had standalone releases. The UK BD included unique interviews with Sandra Milo and Lina Wertmuller. The Umbrella release featured documentaries on Fellini, although they also have a separate DVD release. ![]() ![]() The Criterion release of Scarface has new interviews with Abbott/Hader and Lea Jacobs. Not retained from the Imprint are a Drew Casper commentary and interviews with Matthew Sweet and Tony Rayns. ![]() ![]() Thieves Like Us adds a new Nathaniel Thompson commentary, but doesn’t include the Geoff Andrew appreciation, radio plays or booklet from the Radiance. ![]() ![]() Kino’s 4K release of Play Misty for Me adds a new commentary with Alan Spencer, while also retaining their BD extras (Tim Lucas commentary, Donna Mills interview, Howard S. Berger video essay, TFH) and retaining the Universal extras (Play It Again and Misty, Don and Clint). The Final Cut release featured a trio of interviews with Marc Eliot, Kim Newman and Allan Bryce. ![]() ![]() Like Our Little Sister, the Korean 4K release of Blue is the Warmest Colour is apparently an AI upscale. There are no English friendly extras, but the Artificial Eye release included deleted scenes and interviews with Exarchopoulos and Kechiche. Last edited by CelestialAgent; 09-16-2024 at 11:43 PM. |

North by Northwest is missing the Criterion LD's storyboard to film comparison and Hitchcock interview, as well as the Blu-Ray first printing's isolated score and Cary Grant: A Class Apart documentaries even in the UK version.

The Criterion Laserdiscs of Dr. No, From Russia With Love and Goldfinger were recalled because they had unfiltered commentaries where Terence Young, Guy Hamilton, Richard Maibaum and Peter Hunt went into great detail that EON didn't approve of (and they didn't show EON the commentary tracks in advance), and one instance EON hated had Terence Young call Ian Fleming a bit of a prick. I have the From Russia With Love Criterion, and am still looking for the other two.

Actually, from that list the only things missing are A&E Movie Real and History vs. Hollywood. These were licensed programs from TV networks, specifically A&E and History Channel, and the rights probably lapsed.

Sound of Music seems to be missing the text gallery about the history of Salzburg, the Anchluss and other material related to the film from the 30th Anniversary Laserdisc. I also think Salzburg Sight & Sound from that same LD (which reappeared on the 2010 Blu-Ray) is missing as well.

Also, the OP's comparison of the Kino Lorber 4K of The Apartment to its Arrow UK/US BD may need to be revised, as Arrow will be releasing its UK 4K in December. Last edited by RBBrittain; 09-14-2025 at 10:44 AM. Reason: Fix typo |
