I just received my copy. About to get it started up! I haven't watched this in forever.

Someone was asking about it above, the premise of the Cinematograph line is for films which the director had above average control and influence over the production. I guess this fits the bill.

It's official... Vinegar Syndrome is the GOAT. This might have the best packaging of any 4K in my collection, and that's saying something. This is the very epitome of premium packaging. It even makes the normal magnetic boxes look low-tier. Absolutely beautiful grainy filmic image and badass extras.

Passenger 57 looks like a TV movie compared to this. As a Floridian I also love the Key Largo filming location. This is John Badham's best film after Blue Thunder. It's right up there with Point Break imo. The Han Zimmer score is also badass. Man, good on VS... I'm truly impressed with this release.

My only negative is there is definitely black crush, but everything else is so good that it's hard to get too pissed off about it.

*The skydiving scene set to Toad the Wet Sprocket's song "Fall Down" is an all-timer.

I just ordered this from VS a few days ago. I'm so hyped! Thank you so much for your observations! My order has been shipped but it's still in Connecticut with a USPS label.

I almost want to board a plane to the VS warehouse. Maybe I would get boarded by a few familiar foes.

You're gonna love it if you're a fan of the movie. It's top 5 Wesley Snipes for me. After watching the bathroom fight scene, I had an epiphany... Drop Zone is basically the Roadhouse of skydiving movies, haha. And I just can't get over the Zimmer score, so damn good.

Also... Yancy Butler. WOWZA!!!

Also... Parker Lewis Can't lose... until Drop Zone.

Thank you from someone that loves this movie many moons over!!

I just can't wait until I get my order! I shall let patience take hold of my attention *OBSESSION*

I'm currently experiencing the same feelings that I did prior to the Lionsgate Blu-ray release!

Fun Fact I just learned from the Max Avery commentary... Patrick Swayze's brother was the skydiving stunt coordinator on this movie... small world.

The extras seem to shed light on many things. Thanks again for what you're seeing.

I received my copy from VS earlier today. Watched it and OMFG! Thank you so very much, Vinegar Syndrome for
handling this release!

I watch the Lionsgate blu from time to time. I love it.

This transfer is now in my top 5 catalog 4K releases.

Well done! Thanks for the great packaging also!

Couldn't be more thrilled!

This disc looks and sounds absolutely incredible. As much as I try to avoid Vinegar Syndrome, when I do purchase their stuff I'm always impressed!

Any specific reason for avoiding Vinegar Syndrome?

I don't like how they make boutique shops not carry competing releases. It's a terrible practice that needs to stop. Their product should, and usually does, speak for itself.

Drop Zone is my second purchase from VS. The FIRST was D.A.R.R.YL. The latter is what made me look at VS. Drop Zone is just getting better and better.

This is so true!! It's awesome that true fans were NEVER PRICED out. Get in now. I don't think they'll ever find another 1,000 copies up their ass like RAD!

Just watched the disc. Pretty fun movie. I'm a sucker for 90s action. Disc looks and sounds great. I just noticed one weird thing. There's a scene about 25 minutes in where Snipes is walking and talking to a Navy instructor. One shot that lasts a bit looked like it had frozen grain. It's really obvious against the blue background sky and when the camera bounces as they walk.
