Likely either the UPC or the Amazon listing corresponded to the steelbook and they just changed whatever else was needed. The news article here just mentions steelbook so maybe they didn't look here and weren't aware there's also a standard. Probably the latter since it said there's a slipcover and didn't say steelbook, so I corrected those and submitted a standard version.

I hope the color grading is based on the 2K interpositive master from Warner, whose look is clearly preferable to the Sony master.

Didn't Shout themselves make a post on this very forum about having no interest in using AI for key art or restoration purposes. I'm not saying this cover is made with AI because in all likelihood it's not, but it is funny how much it resembles AI slop.

I found this image on reddit, but the post itself seems to be gone, at least Search can't seem to find it.

Jeez. That looks like it used the same template as the new Blazing Saddles "art". Except, instead of a literal interpretation of the title, it's just at literal transposition of a thing that happens at the end of the film and is of virtually zero significance.

I too will get this if it has the dolphin trainer scene. I got the original blu ray and gave it away to the library because it was missing that scene.

As a kid growing up in the 90s with this VHS tape, I was shocked when this movie was released in HD in the US and the dolphin trainer scene was not in it. I had no idea the scene was not part of the theatrical cut.

Funny enough, I always assumed the "Contains footage not shown theatrically" label on the VHS and DVD was just a misprint - and that the 'extended' cut with the deleted scenes only ever aired occasionally on TV.

For me "Heinz Skitz Velvet" is the funniest scene in the movie! My brothers and I still quote it all the time.

The reason this stuff "looks like AI" is no simple coincidence; it does not have artistic sense or design sensibilities just as the people it is modeled after. It pumps out mass market sludge and it is made in the image of mass market sludge. AI churning out an amalgamation of "aesthetic" movie images is no different than an intern cutting together images and tossing them into a cartoonize-me filter (which is in the same wheelhouse as these AI algorithms anyway)

Goo makers have automated goo making and it is thusly comparable to human-made goo and easily confused. "Magic!"
