Canada 'The Tudors: Season 3' Coming on Nov. 10th

The Tudors: Season 3 is coming from Kaboom Entertainment in Canada on Nov. 10th, 2009. This will likely be an 'Uncut Edition' much like the 2 seasons released previously in Canada.

This is great news, I loved the first two seasons of The Tudors and they are in my Blu-ray library. I really hope the third season is just as good.

Does anyone know what this "Uncut" moniker is about? As far as I know, every release of this show has been the exact same as the Showtime broadcast version. The U.K. Blu-rays are definitely uncut. A little shady marketing if you ask me.

I believe the Canadian versions are extended... Not certain however, but blu-ray.com does list different runtimes for the seasons.

I'm confused. The existing "Uncut" BD's of seasons 1 and 2 are distributed by Peace Arch Entertainment Group. Season 3 (and a reprint of Season 2?) are now announced by kaBOOM! Entertainment (a division of Phase 4 Films). Will we notice any differences between a Peace Arch and a kaBOOM (in terms of content or packaging)?

This is the presumption I was operating on, having purchased the first two seasons from the UK. Now I am thoroughly confused going into a pre-order for Season 3. The runtime for the "uncut" Canadian edition for Season 1 is 68 minutes longer than the UK runtime.

From what I understood at the time of purchase, the versions shown on Canadian TV (CBC) were censored, and the BD release was nothing more than the cut bits added back in. There must be more going on here, i.e. shady marketing (adding the extras in the runtime, etc). I can't imagine any scenario where 68 minutes of footage is added to a Canadian edition without some info on this.

It would be greatly appreciated if anyone can shed some light on this whole "uncut" situation.
