Default Need Help – A80L + UB9000 Combo Causing Soap Opera Effect with 24p On

I’m running a Sony A80L OLED TV paired with a Panasonic UB9000 4K player, and I’m running into a frustrating issue with motion handling when watching UHD Blu-rays.

Here’s what’s happening:

When I leave the UB9000’s 24p output set to Auto (as recommended), I get an unwanted soap opera effect on most movies

when off it looks as it should my question is why and is this common?

Make sure the HDMI settings for each input is set to Enhanced mode, if such a setting exists on that model. It may be set to standard which can end up converting everything to 60fps.

Make sure MotionFlow and CineMotion are off with your SONY as well. It's removes judder automatically on 24Hz signals.
