Now that Super Mario Bros 3D is available on disc, it does have more depth over the VR version. KFP4 3D and DM4 3D already look pretty good so any improvements on disc could make them top tier 3D up there with maybe KFP 3D, DM1&2 3D. I also hope that Wild Robot 3D is made available on disc and shows similar improvement. This movie reminds me so much of Wall-E which should definitely have been shown in 3D.

So, one must choose between higher resolution or more depth. :/

Why does the disc have more depth!?

I would guess that watching a higher bit rate source directly from disc as opposed to a lower bit rate streamed copy is the reason. But I'm talking about standard 3D HD VR, not AVP 4K HDR VR.

Oh, okay. I would be surprised if Apple Vision 4K 3D has less depth than 3D Blu-ray.

VR version?
Hasn't the movie been available on 3D BD from Turbine for a couple of years now?
I'm a bit out of the loop on this one.

Ok, that's confusing. VR to me means virtual reality.

VR is a not too uncommon way to watch digital release 3D movies. It's been available for a few years. The Apple VR device is the most recent incarnation. Check out the Watching 3D Movies on VR (Virtual Reality) Headsets thread.
