I have done just this. I wanted to like it so much, but it's veered miles away from what I think is Doctor Who. Sadly, I haven't even missed it.

I disagree. RTD2 has been a little hit-and-miss and isn't as strong as RTD1, but I wouldn't say it's terrible. In fact, Season Two has been an incredibly strong series. The Well, The Interstellar Song Contest and Wish World are three stories I enjoyed so much I'd give them a 10/10.

I'm still waiting on S1 to get a 4K release, it's shown in that format on iPlayer and Disney+ I want to support the show by purchasing it in the best possible format and the pricing is more inline with that format than BD.

It doesn't look like a 4K release will ever happen though unfortunately. It's a shame given that Seasons One and Two are true 4K, unlike Twice Upon A Time.

The final Jodie Whitaker special was also finished in 4K.

I don't mind upscales though when, like Twice Upon a Time, it clearly had more range to work with for the HDR pass.

Yikes. Yea I've seen those types of people. They have their morals messed up.

People are and that's why the ratings are going down the tube. Very well deserved.

You will be waiting an extremely long time for it. BBC studios took the low numbers of the 4k version of twice upon a time as a sign of low interest. Not taking into account that twice had just recently been released on Blu ray months earlier and in 2018 4k was very much in its infancy compared with where it is now. I’d really like them to give it another go at some point

My take on this season is that it’s been pretty enjoyable on the most part. Most consistently watchable in quite a few years. First 5 episodes were quite enjoyable. Despite having questionable scripting and political choices I thought interstellar song contest was entertaining. Wish world had interesting ideas and but it will all be for naught if the finale falls flat like empire of death did. I’m not saying I wasn’t entertained by it but it’s a set up episode with not very much other substance to it. Casual and audiences that don’t really pay close attention to scripts will be lost. Name dropping a villain (omega) that hasn’t really been seen or mentioned since the 80s will mean squat to them. This final episode has a laundry list of things to pay off. Can’t help but feel it may end up becoming a stuffed mess even if there is 66 minutes to play with.

And an incredibly popular one. I've not seen the fandom as united in a long time as most are over Season Two.

United in its dislike right? I haven't heard anyone say this season has been good, well apart from fans in denial but they can't be reasoned with. The show is dead dude, even if you agreed with its 'great' writing

That it needs to be rested? Yep, completely agree and well deserved. RTD behaved like a child and now the ratings prove he royally messed up (chef's kiss).

I feel so bad for Ncuti, Varada, Millie, and Carole Ann. They all deserved so much better. Oh, how I wish they had split the role of showrunner into an executive producer and a head writer (preferably Jamie Mathieson, Sarah Dollard, or Toby Whithouse) after Moffat left.

Yeah, if you ignore anyone who liked it then there's no one who liked it.

So if I say I liked it (well, after the first couple of episodes anyway), then that's denial and I can't be reasoned with?

Why should I be reasoned with anyway? Can you be reasoned with? No, because you have your opinion which is valid. What isn't valid is then waving away any opinion that doesn't match your own.

What times we're living in....

I remember when it was celebrated that we all had distinct and differing views and opinions on things. Now, whether it's political discourse, religious debate, societal views, even art/entertainment...it's like we've regressed to medieval times where only absolutes are allowed and you're either "with us" or "against us". FFS. Tribalism and blinkered thinking are alive and well in the 21st century and thriving through social media and "influencers" and their respective agendas.

And this is true of all sides, the extreme wings of "liberalism" and "conservatism" are just as bad as each other.

Anyway, the music at the end of The Reality War is probably the best piece of Music Murray Gold has done for the show in years. Beautiful.

But you can't objectively say this season of DW has been good right? Clearly there are major issues with it that are sinking it.

I haven't heard from anyone sane who isn't in denial about how bad it is.

If something is bad it's not unreasonable to want it to be better?

Anyway, in other news I swear I walked past Sacha Dhawan in Tooting Bec today.
