Think interactive turn based. Dodging and parrying are under your control so you don’t just sit by passively watching the action unfold. There’s also QTE’s to make your offensive stronger which in this game can be set to automatically happen.

I listed my copy for sale on eBay instead of trading in at Gamestop and the offer got to $80 in like two hours…just wow. Copies have been selling for $85-100 the last few days even though they have confirmed they will be printing more discs.

Yeah Quality Mode in open map whether on ground or air is a blurry mess. It’s the only area that is like that in Quality mode.

Well IGN is wrong as is the randoms posting stuff about NG+.

Before I started all my characters were 99. They were right about what you keep & lose. As per Damage, I can’t say 100% it is more. I’m playing in Story Mode & am 1 shot-in every enemy encounter without any OP skills.

As per the 1st enemy (Mime) which is in the prologue I purposely let him hit me a bunch of times. He was taking off 200 health each hit from 11,000Hp Gustave.

I set sail & changed my party to Lune, Maelle & Sciel. In spring meadows 1st real area. I’ll report back if I get wrecked. Am thinking no at this point but we’ll see.

You can fix this by putting the post processing to low, like i did, looks so much better with quality mode. If that is an option in ps5 .

Not an option on PS5.
Game got patched & I checked, no fix for blurred image on World Map.

I’m basically doing a full playthrough in Quality Mode only. That said once I get the flying Esq, I might change to Performance for just free roaming.

As per NG+, in Story Mode, just finished the Village. Enemy difficulty is unchanged meaning I was worried for nothing thanks to IGN & folks on forums saying the enemies are 1-shot killing them even in Story Mode.

Also I tried Stendhal after patch & did 7.7M damage instead of 8M damage.

Anywhoooo

Am happy I can replay the main story without difficulty worry. Not a huge leap in Quality Mode over Performance. It’s just lighting, Hair, Resolution. Cutscenes are a bit more clearer than Performance but not a huge difference.

Unlike PC, NO, the game doesn’t have Save Slots via Continue menu in NG+

Basically finished 2nd playthrough.

All while in Quality Mode.

Can definitely say it’s not worth playing the game in Quality Mode. Less aliasing on Hair is the biggest difference. + There is the bug of depth of field in the open map while in Quality.

Think I’m gonna need a 3rd playthrough in Performance mode just so I can erase those quality images from my mind.

Started this today. I always stayed away from turned based games for apparently no reason cause I’m hooked. I love it so much.

Although I prefer real time combat over turn based, if the latter is still fun I will play it. In any case, the story of this game has me intrigued and that is why I look forward to play it (once reasonably priced copies become available again).

The outstanding reviews for this have me very curious. What's the difficulty like? I'm an older gamer and don't have the time or skills I used to.

I'd say it's pretty difficult on Normal. but there's an easy mode

Agree with the above poster, Normal mode CAN be pretty difficult. I dropped it to Easy a couple of times, but late game, you can grind pretty easily.

I'm currently at the end, and I don't want it to end. Thankfully there are lots of end game places to visit so that'll keep me busy for a bit!

I played easy the entire way and only had a couple of close party wipes near the very end. I also wasn't grinding.

Side stuff will still hand you your ass on easy if you don't learn the mechanics but the main story is fine.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 CE contents only (Monolith Set) will go up for preorder at Laced Records/Pix'n Love starting tomorrow ($119.99) until June 12th.

Quote:
Expeditioners,

Earlier this year, our Collector’s Edition sold out way faster than we expected. We know a lot of you missed out, so we’ve spent the time since then putting something together with
@Laced_audio
.

Presenting: the Monolith Set.

It includes all the physical merch from the Collector’s Edition, just without the base game and downloadable cosmetics. That means the Steelbook case, Monolith music box, and Expedition Journal Artbook are all in there.

We’re able to offer it at a lower price: £99.99 / $119.99. If you're located in France, you'll be able to purchase from
@Pixnlove
to benefit from lower shipping costs.

Due to the ongoing tariff situation between the US and China, shipping costs to the US will be higher to account for potential charges at delivery, and US customers may incur additional import duty.

To help combat scalpers, we’re also limiting purchases to two per customer.

Pre-orders open tomorrow and will close on Thursday, 12th June at 11am EDT / 8am PDT. Full details will be available on the product page!

We’re so excited to get these into your hands. Thank you for the support — and for making this possible.

Also at Laced Records but I'm only finding a soundtrack listing currently.

I finally got a chance to put more time into this and so far it lives up to the hype. Engaging gameplay, interesting characters, good writing, and lush visuals. Looks wonderful on PC. Now that my backlog is clear I can just focus on this. Looking forward to it.

"Jeu physique PS5 non inclus"? All the extra crap might look nice, but I want the actual game. So hard pass.
