Ever thought about a PS3 custom paint job?

Looks like some cool options. They also do other systems, as you'll see. It's also nice that you can send your system in rather than have to buy a system from them.

I think if you buy a system new from them, it does technically void Sony's warranty, but Colorware will warranty the unit themselves.

that does look cool, but i really like the black on my PS3, i probably wont change the color, unless i see a color scheme i really, really like, thanks for posting though, definitely something to think about

Actually no.

I've seen some nifty decals but I would rather spend money on more movies and games than try to change the look of my gear.

i have always thought about it. no way for sure on my xbox 360 because im paranoid afterwards id get the rrod. ive thought about getting my controllers done and may still do that. i REALLY wish colorware would get into harmony remotes.

I like the piano black on my ps3 and my 360 is also black so they match......almost

I just got my controllers back from colorware this weekend, and I love them! I posted them in another thread, but here they are again for reference

The pics do them no justice at all, it is a very high quality paint job. If it wasn't $150 for the system, I would really think hard about doing the whole thing!

$150! No way that is worth it IMO considering the system itself is now just $300. That's 50% of the system value in paint.

Hell the iPhones aren't any better either. Same damn $150 prices for a damn small phone. I understand that it may take some work to take it apart, but damn......$150 for an iPhone??

Carbon appears to be their black.

I spent a long time talking to Mr. Rasmussen (Director of Sales & Marketing) via phone and Email, and he is quite possibly the dumbest person I have ever run into.

I wanted to find out what they were capable of doing (ie needed information about capacity and timing on orders; I needed to know how many items they could make and deliver with a couple weeks notice in mid-December - College Bowl Season as well as holiday give away's) in connection with several hundred units with a corporate branding.

He danced around the questions for two weeks worth of back and forth emails. I get the feeling they are either VERY unprofessional, or a smaller than advertised business.

IIRC There was some guy here in the states that did a white gloss paint and finish on a 60gig PS3 years ago, I think it sold to someone in France, who happened to have an all white color scheme entertainment system (tv, dvd, etc. all white). That PS3 was HAWT. The kid did a tremendous paint job too, very professional.
