Non Ultra HD Blu-ray titles available as '4K' on streaming platforms

Hey all

Those titles that are available as '4K' on streaming platforms such as Netflix, Apple etc. but have not been released on Ultra HD Blu-ray disc ... are those titles upscaled versions of 4K or has a new master been created to make these available as 4K on the streaming platforms?

e.g. Con Air ... not available on Ultra HD Blu-ray ... yet (does a 4K DI even exist?) but is available as streaming as '4K' on Apple TV.

Depends...some are new masters that just haven't made it to disc. CON AIR looks to be a new remaster, it just came out recently.

BTW is there a list anywhere of these digital-only/disc-less 4K titles?

Ah interesting.

So would it be fair to say that all the streaming platform 4K releases have a 4K remaster? Or would we have instances that they've used the 2K DI and the streaming platform has upscaled it?
