I'm still waiting on my set to be delivered.
Was dispatched on 13 April and based on the latest tracking info yesterday it's still in the US.
A bit annoyed about it as I placed ordered with Diabolik after this set dispatched, and those orders were delivered already using the same postal class etc.

My copy finally arrived after being stuck in Canadian customs for two weeks. I was starting to worry it wouldn't make it through and be sent back to Severin.

Watched the Ghastly Ones last night. Hilariously awful! Almost felt like a shacky cam movie at times.

Love the packaging!

If you put them all in the same order, yeah. Severin doesn't ship an individual order until all of the items in it are available.

As I go through this... it's nice that we get the extended directors cut of a lot of these films, but I wish they included the released cuts too as the weird warble in the sound on a lot of the footage takes away from things...

Is anyone having trouble playing the Natalie Rogers interview on the first disc? It froze twice on my Sony, and a poster on Classic Horror FIlm Board is reporting the same thing.

On just the new footage? Isn't warble on the audio common on a lot of his films due to a shitty camera? I heard it throughout night birds.

I would also like to have had more options to view these movies, regardless of different framing or the released cuts.
I didn't mind Bloodthirsty Butchers so much, the first film I saw in this set. I kind of just spaced out to the quippy dialogue and then someone gets murdered! I feel bad that this movie hasn't lived up to its poster until this boxset, the added gore isn't particularly shocking now but it could have helped the reputation of the movie a bit!

I guess it must just be inherent then.. I hadn't watched Nightbirds before this set and forgot that it's the same cut that was released before.

My Al Adamson set was looking lonely on the shelf so I finally dropped an order for this beast. Surprised there are still copies available...and that free shipping to Canada was an option! Only seen Fleshpot so looking forward to all the low rent goodness.

Basically, for "full frame" you can't show the full height and width as exposed unless you'd have the rounded corners coming into shot.

For widescreen you can go a bit wider, since the top and bottom are matted off anyway.

Ordinary films should have "safe" area taking all this into account. Milligan films, not so much.

Severin IMO have chosen the best compromise to show the most of questionable framing while still keeping it "neat", though ideally I'd have liked more films in the set to have matted widescreen options like Guru. I suppose we can always keep the Code Red discs.
Thanks
Meant to post this here a while back, re the framing.
Just seems more than the usual sliver a the sides, no?
Framing will never be 'normal' with a Milligan but this seems odd.

Still grinding my way through the set,
well worth my $$ and happy to have it.

So how's Severin's Fleshpot on 42nd Street audio and picture quality compared to the VS release?

Severin's picture is brighter and slightly sharper. The audio is louder and punchier.

The VS has the additional audio commentary and the extra 1.85:1 framing as well as a 'Locations - Then and Now' feature.

Anyone actually try listening to the Hal Borske CD? I wish they had split it up into more than 2 30 minute untitled tracks.

just got this brick of sleaze in yesterday's mail, should be a hoot delving into it! Even though I'll probably find much of it a slog to watch all the way through, I just can't resist the love and care Severin puts into these sets.

That's an odd one to get a solo release.

Just bought this secondhand. There was a loose CD that says ANDY MILLIGAN and a RetroMeida logo. Was this supposed to have a sleeve of some sort? (I assume it was intended to be included...)
