Im not expecting any bombshells. I just expect a lot of 3rd party love, hopefully including a RE9 unveiling. Maybe see gameplay of Saros and MAYBE an update on Wolverine. Otherwise I dont want to see anymore of Ghost of Yotei. I dont want to see anymore of Death Stranding 2. I dont want to see anymore of Lost Soul Aside, other than a release date. I dont want to see anymore of Phantom Blade Zero, other than a release date. I dont expect to see more of Intergalactic here, so no need to think about that.

My question is which PlayStation studios are on deck to show us something new?

Sony Bend, what are they doing in all this time since Days Gone back on PS4?

A new game franchise is all I know, and maybe open world. That must be a small team as their projects take probably too long to make. Remembering Days Gone was revealed when PS4 launched in 2013, and wasn't released until 2019........

Bend was on a live service title that got the axe. We won’t be seeing anything from them for another decade. I’d love to see what the original IP is that Bluepoint has been on since the Demons Souls remake.

There’s already a big sale going on through next week on the PS Store (Days of Play)

That rumored GoW prequel is getting some more buzz, maybe that will be there tomorrow. I prefer the original GoW games over the last two entries so I'm hoping it is real.

Eh. Another GoW wouldn’t move the needle for me at all.

Meh, I could go the rest of this gen without more God of War. I'm kind of sick of it right now. Horizon and Spider-Man as well. I am so over those 3 IP's right now, though a Venom expansion would be cool.

Personally a full on 3D remake with the new GoW control scheme and camera view would be very likely from Sony imo. Just not sure if maybe its being worked on for a PS6 release as a near launch title and maybe give them an opportunity to figure out where to go post-Ragnarok too by retreading old ground in new paint.

I get the sentiment, but for me that fatigue is for Sony's AAA games. Another AA sounds good to me.

It's not AAA games as a category. I'm just sick of all the sequels and remakes. I want new IP and I think that's what is causing the allure of AA games. It's because by and large they are new IP. I enjoyed games like Kena, Stray, Sifu, Stellar Blade, The Pathless, etc because they were new, not because they were AA. If they were developed with AAA budgets, I dont think I would've enjoyed them less. In fact I might have loved them even more.

I think it might rub some the wrong way but i feel like all "Big 3" have got sod all to showcase and they're mostly relying on 3rd parties to pick up the slack for the majority of their content and Nintendo even with the launch of their new consoles seem to have few exciting exclusives. Instead paid for upgrades of cross gen Switch games.

Again, i do hope Sony have some great showings but we've also been underwhelmed before so i deliberately keep expectations low.

Nintendo is literally launching their console with their best selling series, dropping another big exclusive in July, have a Zelda spin off game coming at the end of the year plus Metroid and Pokemon in the fall. Without exaggeration the best six month launch window they have ever had.

As for Sony, they are kind of stuck because of all the teams that wasted their time on canceled live service games. We already know Naughty Dog is working on two games, Yotei is out soon, Insomniac is working on Spider-Man 3, Wolverine and likely the next Ratchet & Clank is starting up soon.

Like heyadol said, they need to get back to more AA games more to get these droughts shorter and allow them to be a little riskier so that a disappointing title doesn’t shut down a studio.

Fair enough. I wasn't just referring to scope/budget, the sequels and remakes that we've seen from Sony have just felt stale but I do like the IP Sony has amassed. A new entry in a new style (for the IP) would make me happy, but I agree that something completely new would be awesome. No baggage from fans, let the devs create something fresh. Maybe that is what we will get via Saros and Intergalactic.

I've given up hope of Sony doing much of anything interesting with their IP and I anticipate more bloated and derivative AAA open world output. My biggest wish is a new Resistance game, but I'd settle for a remastered collection of the trilogy.

I mean, if they want to do sequels or remakes, do some with franchises that have been in cryosleep for the last 20 or so years, like Dark Cloud or Legend of Dragoon, or Syphon Filter or Sly Cooper. A new Wipeout would be cool, or how about a new Jak And Daxter? Resurrect Bushido Blade or Tenchu. Even that rumored Uncharted spinoff with Cassie Drake would interest me. Bring back Motorstorm or Infamous. Just anything besides more God of War, Horizon, and Spider-Man. Let those 3 disappear for a while!

I’m all aboard the more Infamous, Sly Cooper and even Uncharted train since it’s been almost 10 years (side note: that’s insane!), but Horizon and Spider-Man have trilogy capping stories explicitly set up in their last games. That will likely be the last Horizon game we see for a long time, if not entirely. Spidey will always come back eventually.

Jak & Daxter 100% needs a remake. The Dark Cloud game i liked but i just don't see it having as much mass appeal as well as Legend of Dragoon with the way Sony targets sales but if they made a smaller budget team that could take their time to properly remake it, then that would be cool. Syphon Filter though is the IP i really think they need to revive. It's got the perfect story to be remade for a modern audience as well as great MP potential local and online. You can approach it like MGS with stealth or a bit more guns blazing where stealth is made optional.

Wipeout games have been a while but if they make it, i want them to do it first and foremost with PSVR2 in mind as that hardware needs such a game imo.

Sly Cooper can also do with a proper 3D remake and tbh, Sony would kill it against Nintendo getting that more family oriented line up released to compete since Astro Bot and Ratchet are the only two real 1st party IPs that come to mind on that front.

Uncharted i think could be sidelined for a proper sequel for now maybe but i do think maybe there's enough time passed to think about having a remake of the 1st three games with better controls, graphics and overhauled cutscenes etc. to kick off as a quick anthology for PS6 to reintroduce the IP and then maybe consider a proper sequel or spin off with new characters. The IP although it seems strongly tied to Nathan Drake could be shifted to a new band of characters with new stories that take place around the same timeline as the original games and maybe even feature a cameo from the others.

That said, they're going to do whatever the crystal ball holding executives eventually decide is the best direction i guess

More remasters. Gotta reach TLoU levels. They’ll have to make the first two graphically in line with the third.

Is that the big sale already? I was expecting bigger deals but thanks. That's not too bad with some decent deals.
