I went to pick up Troy, Alexander, and Deliverance at a different Best Buy than the one I work at due to us selling out immediately on tuesday of most new blu-ray releases. So I walk into the movie section and I was awed by the fact that I found two movies in the blu-ray section that I knew did not come out till next tuesday (9/25)...Wyatt Earp and Gods and Generals. I know that usually there are hard street dates on movies...whether catalog titles or new titles, and I'm aware that there can be a fine (supposedly up to $10,000 per copy) enforced on any store that sells these copies prior to the street date. So being a loyal employee I informed the media employee that they were not supposed to be released until tuesday...and after he decided on treating me like a complete idiot...I said screw it and went ahead and bought them anyway (was already planning on adding them to my collection). So I guess I have both of these movies a little earlier than Warner Brothers wanted...but it will make for a good excuse to review the picture/audio quality on two classics. I took photos for proof as well...considering this is a weird scenario.

I posted another photo because I realize all the "photoshopping" going on...like the Blades of Glory release. I definately will post on the PQ/SQ though.

Good find but unless they release the 3 and a half hour director's cut of Wyatt Earp, I ain't buying it. Same goes for the Dances With Wolves whenever that may come to Blu-ray. I want the 4 hour extended version of that as well. These are two of the best westerns ever and deserve to be seen in their full versions.

How did "Stonewall" look, in God's and Generals? How about the famous speech, about his affection for the Army Of The Shenandoah? That is how our Blu Ray speeches should sound! "We Are The First Brigade, in the fight against HD DUD!"
