![]() ![]() Heard it is being considered. Usually don't make threads about rumors, but this actually makes sense when you think about it. Whether it is true or not. |

Are you going to actually link to a credible source or are you just going to make a thread because you "heard"?
The original wasn't much of a hit to begin with, it gained cult status over time for its animation and music. It's also just The Ten Commandments and has been tried before, quite recently by Ridley Scott. Lastly, its unashamedly religious, the animated one gets away with it because... well, it's animated, but there is a cap with this type of movie and considering how expensive it would be to make, given the sets and extras, I can't see it being very profitable. I really don't see it happening. |

Is it necessary? Not at all. Would it make a ton of money? Yeah, probably.
Unless it's someone with a real vision, I don't see it ending well, though. There's some truly beautiful stuff in the original that one could argue works so well because it's animated. It would have to strike a really fine line to come across as intended in live action. I haven't seen or heard it, but I know they did a stage musical of the movie. Most of what I've read about it says it just didn't quite work, though, so maybe that's a sign we should just let the original be. |

We don't need this movie. We already have the 1956 version of "The Ten Commandments".
