One of the lower-key announcements at Nintendo's big Switch 2 reveal was Drag x Drive, a Rocket League-style take on the real-life sport of wheelchair basketball. The publisher has revealed the release date for this 3v3 multiplayer title in yet another low-key Nintendo Today app post, and the August release plan makes the rest of the release dates for the publisher's upcoming Switch 2 games in 2025 a whole lot easier to guess.

Drag x Drive launches on August 14, 2025, and it'll be an eShop exclusive with no physical version. Hopefully, that means this will be a lower-priced title, though we've got no confirmation on pricing just yet. With a muted, but tentatively positive response to Drag x Drive at its reveal, I imagine Nintendo would be keen to keep the barrier to entry quite low

Could be fun, but I'm cynical so I don't think fun is important to reviewers. I wonder which article we get first:

- Something praising Nintendo for inclusivity
- Something condemning Nintendo for making a game where you cosplay as someone's disability

I kind of wish you could play the traditional controller way, as well as with the gimmicky mouse/joycon.

It could have done with more colors or something though. Just seems bland and repetitive otherwise...

Ehh, likely would have bought it if there was a physical edition. Definitely won't be getting it now.

Drag x Drive, Nintendo's upcoming Switch 2 exclusive 3v3 wheelchair basketball game, is getting a free demo ahead of its launch similar to playable previews Nintendo's done in the past for games like Splatoon and Arms.

Even the event's title, Drag x Drive: Global Jam dem, mirrors the Splatoon and Splatoon 2 Global Testfire demo, as well as Arms' Global Testpunch demo. Likewise, Switch 2 owners, with active Switch Online subscriptions, mind, will get to play Drag x Drive ahead of its release during pre-set sessions over an upcoming weekend.
